Thats a nice thought, Seaxwyn - that would be lovely if hypno had some good times coming in the same measure.

Hi hypno - just catching up.

Oh crikey hon, you really are getting more than your fair share of cr ap at the moment aren't you?

Well.....thanks goodness you have the evidence so that the parasites in the car that hit you cannot claim. So try not to stress about *that*. I hope that they somehow get penalised for telling blatant lies and trying to con money. It really does make your blood boil doesn't it?

I agree that maybe sending the other laptop back is a good idea - if you can do it.

And I am slack jawed at the courtesy car being 'terminated' like that - why??? Was it not part of your insurance to get a car whilst yours was being repaired? Why should you have to pay for this so called 'extra' time?

I am really sending out some positive vibes that your luck changes *very* soon - you simply need a break here!

    BIG hug.

hi Guys and thanks again for all your support - today has been one of the most trying ones of recent times and yet I know I can come on here, have a rant and get loads of hugs when I need! Rock on DFW!!!

So, anyway, I have a new laptop and it is so much better than the old one, so even though this one is the more expensive, if we do send one back, it will be the old one, although I suspect that OH will come up with a reason to keep it!!

My one ray of sunshine in my day was that I got a letter from the library - I have books due back last February, but had not taken them back because the fines are the size of a small country's national debt. Anyway, today I receive the letter saying they are giving me a 14 day amnesty and I won't have to pay any fine if I return them in this period. Fantastic!! Guess where I will be heading later in the week :o

Hey that's great re: the amnesty!

Make sure you don't accidentally forget - how annoying would *that* be!?!? :rotfl:

Hi Hypno...so sorry to hear what a crappy day you've had...you don't deserve this c..p!!!...have you rung your insurer up to tell them whats going on with the hire car as it's up to them to fight your corner...failing that do you have legal cover on your household insurance?...your insurance should've appointed you a solicitor straight away....
Then the lap-top as well...I really feel for you...and sending big hugs...take care xxx

Hi all, yes we have been onto our insurance company, and we have legal cover so have also been speaking to the solicitors - more phone calls to log and claim back. I was hoping it would all go through smoothly (note to self - if it looks to good to be true, it probably is).

Today I have a full day, I have to get my claim statement finished, have masses of clients to see if my aching muscles will allow, and have to get the car to the crash repair centre - apparently I am able to drive it, but it doesn't sound very healthy so I will have my AA card with me just in case. I am not looking forward to it!

I have spent hardly any time on MSE these last few days and have not caught up with all the zillions of new threads that have started. I hope everyone is ok though, and I will try and catch up over the next few days xx

    Hi,

Sorry to hear about the aching muscles. Do try to find some time for yourself today.

I was in a hotel where the freebie was some posh relaxing bath salts. Really muscle soothing at the end of a stressful day. I looked at the label and discovered it was sea salt crystals plus essential oils (lavender and camomile). So raided Holland & Barrets on my return and I now have my very cheap DIY version. Anyway to get back to the point, it's highly recommended if you don't already use oils like that.

Hope the car behaves and you manage to get it to the repair centre without problems.

bonus!!! OH has taken a couple of hours off work (which he will make up this evening) and will take the car to the garage for me :j I feel a lot happier not having to drive it - it did not sound "normal"!!!

I have ordered myself a new stool for working, on the advice of the physio yesterday, so more expense and something else to claim back. I am going to do some client work this morning and then try and get time for a soak in the bath, as se999 suggests before my next lot of clients which I see at lunchtime.

DD is still asleep and DS has gone to his holiday activity (on the bus) and will be going straight to a friends for tea after, so perhaps today can go smoothly after all!!

DFW wise, well, I have spent on this new stool, but I don't think there is any other expected expenditure today - mind you, I thought that yesterday morning and ended up skint. I have not yet updated my signature to show the extra cost - too  to do that just yet!!!

Well, it sounds like maybe things have bottomed out for you - I'm glad you're able to at least keep an eye on the costs that need to be claimed back. Don't forget the "inconvenience" scale. I had some lawyers who messed up a few years ago, they at least admitted liability straight away, and sent me a pdf document of The Law Society's about recompense for inconvenience. I judged I was kind of low to midway - but they ended up paying me only one step down from the max that they could, i.e. they thought they'd caused me a great deal of inconvenience - and that was for no physical damage at all, "just" months and months of inconvenience and extra phone calls and letters and the like.

I can email you the guide, if you like - its not strictly relevant, but it might give you an idea of the kind of definitions they use.

Hope your luck has now changed Hypno and that the library letter is the first of at least 3 pieces of good luck for you. :A
