Hi Pania! I *think* it went well. I used a match on the tips thread, and posted what I thought on the newbie thread, and it seems to have gone okay, but somebody else has just come on and said no, you've got it wrong, but I don't understand how, so I've just now reposted. Maybe you (and hypno) could hop on over to the "Official Matched Betting Newcomers Thread VI" and take a look-see?
Are you doing some comping? What are you applying for?2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Hi KC, did you get to the bottom of the matched betting thing? I have not yet been over to have a look, but will do so in a mo.
DD has been comping for most of the day - anything and everything! Kept her quiet and she quite enjoyed it so she is happy to do more tomorrow - you never know we may win a lip gloss or something (although I am rather hopeful for the fortnight in Antigua and the Audi A3!!)
She is now sorting out her orange wednesday ticket for tomorrow. I still can't sit for 3 hours in a cinema seat comfortably so DD is taking DS to see Harry Potter.
DFW wise today DD has made a birthday card for my nephew instead of buying one, and DS got the bus to his holiday activity which was cheaper than the car, and quite enjoyed his independence, so result there. I applied for some more tutoring posts and did some paperwork, accepted OH bank charge claim and bits and pieces.
Tomorrow brings the physio appt, and a need to tackle some housework before seeing clients in the evening. My life is just one long exciting whirl :rolleyes:Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. Hi,
On the comping watch out for the terms & conditions! You need to be adult for some comps ( e.g. winning cars), whereas for child/teen comps etc you need to be within the age criteria, it would be awfult to win and then not!!
Also some comps are ADULT!!
Also, online comps are free normally, but text and post cards normally incur costs. I'm not an expert, only been comping for about 18 months. So don't know all the in's and outs.
Thanks for yours and Ljd1 and Zippy's help on the therapy front.
P.S. Sorry to hear you're still not comfortable, it must be even worse when it's the school holidays especially as they're into active sports.0 -
Thanks Se999, DD has been thoroughly versed in which comps to enter! On the first "block" of comps, there was one for Ann Summers - successfully avoided, so I knew I had to talk to her pretty sharpish!! I think the reason it has taken her all day is because she is reading all the terms and conditions! She will be the best read teenager in the area by the end of the holidays and all that without having the Harry Potter book (although she has entered a comp to win a copy!!).
Any help you need on the therapy front, just give me a shout, although if you are like me you will be googling courses at every opportunity!!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. Hi hypno
The MB has been kind of eluding me, tbh - I keep getting different figures in the matcher from what I should. Either it downloaded funnily, or I'm just not being careful enough, e.g maybe I need to set it to zero before I use it each time. Do you do that? I can't do any more right now, my brain has gone kablooie, but will start up again tomorrow.
Hope you're more comfortable tomorrow.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Blimey, KC, I have just read through the MB posts, and I am not surprised you got confused!!
My advice is to put it away for today. Have another go tomorrow. No rush - and the good peeps on the newbies thread would rather you asked questions now than muck up big time!!
I will be around tomorrow and will check out that thread to see how you are getting on!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
  Bad day so far - I want to run away and come back when everything is better!!!
Started off with 2 letters from solicitors - representing the two people in the car that hit me, saying they are claiming against me because I pulled out of a side road, at excessive speed, with no regard for traffic having right of way. Well, !!!!!!!!! I was stationary, behind the give way line, going no speed at all because I was at a stop, and have photographs to prove it! They are claiming against me for personal injury.
I am so cross, but any dithering I was doing about making a claim has gone out of the window. I am sorry, but if they can blatantly lie about what happened, when we have police evidence etc, then I will have no qualms now about putting in a claim for injuries I have actually sustained.
So. Armed with my laptop, ready to start putting together paperwork, my laptop has stopped charging. I have only had it since April/May time and now it is about to die! So instead of doing my claim, I have to go to PC world and will probably only just get home in time to go to the physio.
Why can I not have a simple, more straightforward life. Just for once

Oh Hypno how maddening and upsetting - my heart goes out to you.
How can they lie like that? I thought they admitted liability at the time? Maybe they have been advised by bloodsucking parasite lawyers. good news that you have photos and police evidence.
Hoping for some good news soon to balance this out. Perhaps your DD will win that holiday to Antigua..... Has she started her paper round yet? My two start theirs on Saturday, six days after their 13th birthdays, chips off the old block.Total debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620 -
What a terrible start to the day.
Could it be you've come accross one of these 'teams', they're a national problem now:

If it's a possibility, you're supposed to tell the police of your concerns, so they can look into the other parties more fully.
Have you got free legal advice with any of your insurance policies etc.. I'm not too keen on relying on motor insurers to work in my best interest they tend to want to do what's cheapest for them.
Hope the rest of the day is better for you.0 -
Oh hypno, have a big (((((HUG)))))
Some people will just try it on, whatever the circumstances (they've seen all those TV adverts for big personal injury claims!) However, you've got photos and police reports, so try to take pleasure in the fact that you're going to beat them (and possibly get them into trouble for blantantly lying!)
Hope the laptop gets sorted quickly - it might just be that you need a new power lead or somethingTotal Debt 13th Sept 2006 (exc student loan): £6240.06
