I'm certainly not out the woods yet been feeling really down today , so very easy to give in but I am fighting it and yes warez I do feel good that I didn't get any but I seriously do wander how long it takes to feel normal
I do feel sick of moaning and blaming it all on the fags I'm prob just a miserable git :rotfl: x
Hi Annabelle! Good to see you and NO, you're not a miserable git!!!
This is why warez and I are trying so hard to get you and Part Mouse to stick with it now!
We know all too well that if you buckle now - that you'll only want to start off all over again as soon as possible!!
Keep going and stay strong! Another day has gone by, another day conquered...and....another day closer to feeling human again, smiling and being so terribly happy that you DID REACH YOUR GOAL!!!!
We keep on saying it, I know, but take it all a day at a time and you will soon be reaching the point where it all makes sense and becomes so much easier as your brain accepts that you're not going to give in!! It then reaches the stage where it doesn't even want one and so...doesn't keep making you think 'thoughts' of them.
Hang fire, Annabelle, with each day you're getting to where you wanted to be - your new non-smoking LIFE!! :j
The miserable git will then be gone!!! :grinheart

Is that such a bad thing, Part Mouse? Does it mean you're not being too badly affected ciggy wise? Hope so.
Another day nearly over, warez, Annabelle, you too PM?!!! They do start to go by quite quickly. Be sooo proud of the time you've managed, the way you've been throughout. Truthfully, I'm so very pleased and proud of you ALL!!! :T:T:T
I hope you're ok too, babes and Dave? It's always good to hear from you, others of you still with us too.
Keep plodding along, folks, you'll be mighty pleased you made the effort - and kept it up when you get to the goal. It's such a terrific feeling. Keep heading for it.

Morning All!
Still here! Did a bit a research yesterday and it says that it takes 21 days to create a habit, so in a couple of days my habit will be non-smoking.
Still tough, still would break I reckon given half the chance, but choose not to.
Weekends are the worst, feel sorry for myself a little bit, days seem to stretch ahead. But I am going to fill it today with baking, walking the dog, cuddling the kids and comforting things like that.
But my mind is now slowly coming round to the fact that I don't smoke. The urge to smoke is diminishing now aswell and if I did relent, it certainly wouldn't be because I am having any cravings, it would be my weak mind. Well, weak mind, BE GONE!
Anyway, good luck today guys, fill it with lots of fun things.
We CAN do it. xxSmoke Free since 1 January 20130 -
One more sleep for me and it will be my two year milestone :j
Yes, that'll be me walking on air today, that'll be me with the nice hair and the nice teeth and the non-smelly smoky old cloud around me.
Well, Kiwi, I'm certainly not waiting for you to come and let us know if you succeeded in making it through the night!!VERY many congratulations on achieving your goal and your dream and being TWO YEARS FAG-FREE, Kiwi!!!!! :T:T:T:T:T:T:TI honestly could never be happier for you than I am right now, you've done amazingly!!! Yes, one or two moments - you wouldn't have been human otherwise, but you set your heart on a goal and never once gave up - that is the measure of success!!!!!!!! :j :T :j
A very happy Sue xxx :grinheartwarez22 wrote:But my mind is now slowly coming round to the fact that I don't smoke. The urge to smoke is diminishing now as well and if I did relent, it certainly wouldn't be because I am having any cravings, it would be my weak mind. Well, weak mind, BE GONE!
Good Morning, warez.
You're using this thread in exactly the way it was intended, to record your feelings most days - then hopefully, to look back over them and see the progress you made which has been astounding!!!!!! :T:T
However, you've gone a step ahead of that and the help and advice you've given to fellow quitters is amazing, and to them I'm sure is precious!
I know now and then the time goes by slowly, but it would have been a whole lot slower if you'd thought only of yourself, you're doing brilliantly and it's been truly wonderful to witness your success this far.
Keep going, warez, stay busy and stay free! Imagine your lungs now slowly repairing themselves, the bronchial hairs all growing back so well, your skin looking much pinker rather than sallow, your teeth whitening up, no smokey breath and LIFE gained!!!! :j
Your journey is one of the best I've witnessed so far, you're winning and revelling in it all and it's a joy to be part of. :grinheart Your posts will always be inspirational to so many, be proud as you move forward.
Hugs, Sue xx
Please, Annabelle, Part Mouse, babes, Dave and so many others, as well as lurkers also stopping, - know that your dream too is achievable, your dream WILL become reality IF you press ahead and never falter! Where's the point in giving up - then later - starting 'stopping' all over again. A couple more days and you too could be loosening the chains that have bound you so tightly.
Always stay strong and know you can get there!
Hugs to everyone. Hello everyone and congratulations on how well you are all doing!
It 6 weeks today since I had a cigarette, and it feels like a very long time ago since I smoked - almost like that was a different person. The Champix I took for 4 weeks at the start are fully out of my system now, and I'm starting to feel much better for that thankfully.
I no longer smell of smoke, my house smells fresh and clean as does my car
I changed the filters in the air purifier -unbelievable how dirty it was with mainly nicotine I think
I am spending so much less money at the shops its amazing - even whilst I'm buying higher quality/more expensive foods to help improve my nutrition levels after being unwell.
I still think on occasion that a ciggy would be nice - thats habit at certain times, but amazingly, its no longer the first thing I think about in the morning or last thing at night, and I never imagined that might happen so quickly. I've also stopped looking for them in my pockets before I go out, and checking my handbag. Someone earlier sad about it taking 21 days to create a habit, and I think thats right and applies to "undoing" habits too.
My weight is still stable, albeit that I have a half stone or so I would like to lose - but that can wait for a few weeks more - its more important to maintain a stable weight at present I think.
My stats are:-
1247 cigs not smoked and £439 saved!
I spoilt myself a little the other day and used the savings for a new laptop which was on offer
Keep up the good work everyone, one day at a time!

Well done tyadog, your doing so well. Great to hear your treated yourself with the money you have saved
Sue the cotton wool head feeling is horrid for me, I hope it gets back to its normal level soon.
Still smoke free.

Your post is just the tonic to lift me up. It's great that you have come so far, well done.
