Morning All,
Back to work today. Still on my journey. Absolutely knackered as am not sleeping. I am getting to sleep 4-5am each night.
I downloaded an hypnotic MP3 last night, which I think did help a little bit. Apparently the more you listen to it, the better it works.
But the important thing is that, although I am absolutely hanging, I know this will pass and I will get through it. All my other attempts, the not sleeping bit has almost been an excuse for me to start smoking again. I don't think like that this time, so I know this time it's the real deal.
I am being really short with my partner, cant help it, being really mean, which I know is not on, but he is being really sweet with it and keeps asking me whether I am ok.
So all in all, doing ok.
Good luck everyone today, another day closer to not thinking of the fags, EVERY minute!!!:)Smoke Free since 1 January 20130 -

Many thanks for your additional help regarding weights, stevenazhuo!! Much appreciated.

Morning warez, I love the way you're sounding so terribly positive this time round, really intent on reaching your goal - no matter what!!! :T
When you can't sleep try getting up for a short while and reading part of a book or having a hot, milky drink...and then going back up again; I don't think just being laid in bed is any good for you, so see if either or both of the above help. Failing that, get yourself some "Kalms", a natural remedy that, according to other quitters has worked for them. You'll definitely be less  with your partner, though, bless him, he's going out of his way to help you through this and letting you know he's 'there for you'. Don't feel too bad about it though, he's showing you he understands and I'm sure in time you will find ways to make it up to him!
Keep using the mp3 as they're most likely right in that it'll help you more as you get 'into' it and become more responsive to it.
The number of days is brilliant though...so close to the next great goal!!!!!
Sue x
Have a good day, everyone, stay positive and focused at all times. For all of you on your 1st Day I sincerely hope you're feeling the vibes from the rest of us; you all were the first thing on my mind on waking this morning, willing you on.....on the first day of the rest of your fag-free life! One day at a time WILL see you get there! :grinheart

I am not sure how I never came across this thread.
I am 24 almost and have stopped smoking since 14 August 2010. I know I did not smoke as much or as long as many people I know or on here. I found it extremely difficult at the time and it took me from mid 2009 and a few failed attempts until I really managed to kick it and I was wasting so much money smoking 20-30 a day and upwards of 40 if I had been out drinking.
I found the best way through the website whyquit.com. Some of the stories were heart breaking and I knew going cold turkey was the only way, I stopped drinking to help me quit, I drink now I just knew I had to stop it as it was a major factor in the smoking.
It is hard but you can really do it to anyone out there who is wanting to stop.
Good luck and I'll be subscribing to this thread for sure."All truths are easy to understand once they are discovered, the point is to discover them."

Stopping smoking improves the body’s bloodflow, so improves sensitivity. Men who stop smoking may get better erections. Women may find that their orgasms improve and they become aroused more easily. It’s also been found that non-smokers are three times more apealling to prospective partners than smokers (one of the advantages, perhaps, of smelling fresh).

So that's where my permanent smile has come from
Absolutely true though, and it sounds as though, determined, and I have both been experiencing such fag-free orgasmic pleasures!!
My DH thought I'd gone on overdrive to start with, but was very pleasantly surprised :kisses2:
Better libido makes us forget fags altogether, something to think 'hard' about.
warez this might kill 2 birds with one stone - make your oh forgive any snappiness and also help with the sleep:rotfl:

Great minds think alike!!
I will make it up to him, apparently to get to sleep you need to produce serotonin (sic?) and sex is the best way to get it.
Haven't tried it yet, too busy wallowing in my vat of self-pity!
All through my mp3 last night it was saying sex was the best way to a good nights sleep. If I have the same trouble tonight, I might try it! Kill two birds - get a good nights sleep, give me a workout and show my appreciation to my OH. No brainer. We will see - all talk me. :rotfl:

Thanks a lot for your input, conisme, we have a link to the site on the 1st page of the thread. As you say, some very sad tales on there, but I suppose that even works to the advantage of many.
Congratulations to you on having quit!!!! :T:T:T Very wise in keeping away from the alcohol whilst at your most vulnerable, the only way to really keep hold of your senses.
All the best, Sue x
Oh no! We're not talking sex again are we, determined?! Oh goodie, count me in!!!! :rotfl:
The perfect [STRIKE]plot[/STRIKE] plan though and you can't get more relaxed than that :happylove Just don't forget to set the alarm for the morning, warez!!!!

Hi everyone
I managed to have my last ciggarette last night at 9pm, I was about to have my last one later on and I got a lovely PM through on my phone which I read and went to bed without the one later on.
After work on the way home I was thinking I need one when I get home (this is a habit every day after work) but I managed to go without :j
I have just had my dinner and left the kitchen to come on here, as I feel I want a ciggarette and usually do have one after dinner.
My throat is feeling a bit groggy as it has got worse over the months with smoking, other than this I feel quite good.
I just hope and pray I can keep it up.
I hope everyone else is doing well, keep up the good work
Thanks Debbie0
