Thanks Sue, if I can help anyone quit or offer advice then that's good in my books, hope everyone is having a smoke free day
It's good in mine too, conisme! :grinheart You've been through it and no what's what so come and help by all means!
Sue xMy day was a lot better then yesterday :j no tears and I managed to go shop and get my suger :rotfl:
Absolutely fantastic, anablle!!!!!!!!! :j :T :j You've totally made my day a good'n!!!!!! :kisses3: You can get there, day by day a little longer and a little stronger! Keep reading the PM and don't forget fruit, cold water and iced grapes and exercise! You're a great character and think of every one of us, but....always make room and time for YOU!!! Another day to notch up, superb!!!
Hugs, Sue xxxI managed to have my last ciggarette last night at 9pm, I was about to have my last one later on and I got a lovely PM through on my phone which I read and went to bed without the one later on.
After work on the way home I was thinking I need one when I get home (this is a habit every day after work) but I managed to go without :j
I have just had my dinner and left the kitchen to come on here, as I feel I want a ciggarette and usually do have one after dinner.
I just hope and pray I can keep it up.
You've done brilliantly, Debbie, I'm truly delighted you've started and are doing all the sensible things. :T You're also recognising what were (past tense) the 'problem times' and doing something about it instead of letting them register. Keep that up, Debbie, and there's no reason why you can't keep it up. Well done whoever stopped you having that nasty last one...an angel sent surely! :A
Onward Debbie and pop the cash saved aside and watch it grow.
Wishing you all you need to conquer this evil.

Try and occupy yourself, have a bath, pamper yourself, do some stretches, have some water.
Think about all the reasons you are giving up. Think about how much you will hate yourself if you have that fag. And for what? Stick with it, I know how you feel and it drives you NUTS. But it is just your body trying to trick your mind into thinking that you HAVE TO HAVE a fag. But you don't, in fact, anything but.
Good luck xxSmoke Free since 1 January 20130 -

Hi everyone and well done to all of you for getting through today
stay strong debs you can do this ...definitely read all the posts again and try to do something to occupy yourself. I have had quite a good day today, 1st day back at work after Xmas so was very busy which was good. Everyone was so supportive and actually amazed that I hadn't smoked for days, as anyone who knows me knows what a heavy smoker I USED to be
.....now I do have a confession to make though....nooooo I haven't had a cigarette but I have been and bought some patches, as when I got in from work I just seemed to crash and really wanted a cig so very very badly, I had actually gone to the 'big' shops to buy some, but I didn't and bought patches instead:eek:. I'm sorry folks I feel like I've let you all down and myself but it was so overwhelming I thought I would just cave in. I haven't put a patch on yet so may not need them but I feel a bit safer knowing that they are there !

Be strong, Debbie and be proud of all the hours you've not smoked for. warez is right, relaxing in a bath, then a hot drink..chocolate if possible will help you feel much better. The bath, or shower will also take away all the toxins from nicotine that you've perspired through the day too, the same also by drinking water and flushing your system through.
Whatever hobbies you might have and that can give you pleasure and take your mind away from how you're feeling, have a go. Or look through some treasured photos and bring wonderful memories to light. You spoke of saving your unspent cash on a holiday, plan it out - now and whenever you need to focus on something far better than a nasty, smell old stick.
anablle had a rotten day yesterday, but has felt so much better today, and so often it's found that a bad day is followed by a good one, possibly because we draw strength from the courage it took to get through the rough time the day before.
If it helps then have an imaginary ciggie, go through all the fingers to mouth actions, even inhaling and exhaling. Do so over the normal duration of a cig at the place where you used to smoke - or at a fresh spot, that's your choice! However, in life it's not always that simple, it's far better to give up through choice and be happy than to wait and have to give up due to your health.
We're all rooting for you, Debs.

Hello Ladies,
Well i've gone almost 24 hours without a cigarette and my first day non-smoking is almost over!! I've finished reading Allen Carr's book but i've had a little help from a patch.... although I really think it is mind over matter as you still get cravings with even the patch.
I'm doing okay, I still fancy a cigarette of course but not enough yet to make me want to smoke one!!
Well done everyone, so pleased for you all, keep on going.0
