Sorry gettingready, didn't see you there.
Now you've got this far why not just use the Quitting Pledge above to get you through tomorrow, no long commitment, just try it!!
Bet you could do that!
Best wishes.

Then got a friend coming over around 2 - bit scared of her (;) is she is reading) so would not dare break the day by smoking LOL

Good morning getting ready.
Hope today goes smoothly for you. Once you start cleaning it will be lunchtime before you know it and your first morning into your new life as a non-smoker :T
Keep focused on why you are doing it and I'm sure that will keep you going............and lean on us lot too. I found that this forum kept popping into my head on weaker moments and it gave me so much strength to think that so many other people had done it that I could too!!
Welcome everyone else and good luck for the weekend.
My CN said I may never get to a zero rating as I work in Manchester City centre and all the traffic etc there would affect my reading. Bit scary really that isn't it? I thought at first she didn't believe I hadn't smoked at all as I didn't have the zero but she explained this and it made some sense.
Anyway, off we go today and good luck and keep strong everyone.
Off to get the Alan Carr book today as library have reserved it. Looking forward to reading that as so many others have got inspiration from it......have you read it getting ready?
Sue - so pleased you are on the mend...must have been a weight off your mind the clear blood results.
Take care all and good luck xxx0 -

A very good morning to everyone, especially you, gettingready, as you begin what could be a fresh, healthy life for you and your dear pets.....remembering that IF you smoke indoors, they too are at risk - truthfully!
A scary friend may do wonders for you. After she's gone, even if it's a bit late, how about a walk round the block, field, park wherever and breathe in pure, fresh air.....blissful!
Cleaning though is one of the greatest ways to get you off to a flying start, so don't think about it anymore - just go for it!! :grinheart
Don't forget to keep bearing the Quitters Pledge in mind, each moment, hour or day at a time.
Quitters Pledge"Today I promise not to smoke any cigarettes, tomorrow - if I wish - I may do."Renew the pledge every morning on waking. This helps in not making quitting feel as though you're planning something lifelong, it helps trick the mind in taking it all one day at a time. The lifelong part you determine for yourself when you're ready.
We are ALL right behind you, gettingready and YOU CAN DO IT, let nothing stand in your way, LIFE is too important!
We'll be here to back you every step, so yell, scream or laugh with us!

Morning Fergie, another good one for you I hope. I've never read the AC book so will be interested on your views. So many who have quit swear by it and have had it work for them.
Your CN is absolutely correct, the more industrial areas are that way, sadly. We had one girl from the list who worked unloading goods from wagons: Then they'd start the engines blowing all that filth back into whoever was unlucky enough to be in the firing line!
One poor girl, in much the same area as you, swore her CN didn't believe her, but she had to walk alongside busy roads to get to the surgery. Little wonder that her's never went below 2. Still, whatever it goes down to.....what a significant difference to smoking stinking, smelly fags!!!!! Perish the thought. If you can get away from the city into the fresh air now and again, make the most of it by getting plenty of the air into the lungs; even at a temporary rate it does so much good - AND - doing some exercise there (enough to make you puff) will give you a big fat zero anyway!!!
You're doing brilliantly, Fergie, keep hard at this new life you've made for yourself.
BTW, feeling a little less tired and itchy today!! :j It's looking so good and I'm thrilled after a long few weeks of it!!!! Life's good!
Sue xx
Don't give smoking another thought, folks, it doesn't deserve it, but you deserve your LIFE...it's of so very precious - get it back and LIVE it to the full.

OK, gettingready, sad you don't really try though.
Still, one day it'll hit you and you'll want to, or I hope that's the case. Try your best in keeping it to the minimum, at least that will be a LOT better for you.

I know it is frightening to take the plunge and jump off of the cliff. But when you do you find out there's a bouncy castle the other side and its actually a lot more fun than it was on terra firma.
So you bought some, so you smoked. You can still extinguish one and then stop. As I have said I find that a lot easier and less scary than waking up in the morning and going completely without. Then I just take it one cig at a time. You can do this gettingready, and I believe you've got this in you xxxDF as at 30/12/16

Dont worry about it Gettingready......your time will come, you will know when you are def ready xxxx:)
As for me, I had to chicken out of going out last night. Got upset over an issue at tea time and all i wanted was a smoke. there was no way I would have gone out and not at least have had a puff so I decided to stay home and away from all temptation .
On the positive side... got up today feeling nice and fresh(no hangover) and headed off to nearest homebase to get paint for bathroom and a few other decorating bits and bobs. Came home with a new tv unit lol and a small storage table/unit for sitting room (still trying to get house completed since moving last August). Now sitting here looking at the 2 new pieces and thinking gee all that would have gone up in smoke before and now look at what I have got instead....OOHHH it does feel good. :T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T
Sue thx again for your positive encouraging words of wisdom. Hope your doc can figure out what it is your allergic too
Thx to everyone else who is posting, reading through all the posts really helps lots, keeps me calm and keeps my mind occupied and most of all keeps me focused on what I am trying to achieve
