Hi there determined. I'm hoping by now you're well into the day and feeling reasonably happy with not puffing away. The further away you can get the better it'll be, but you don't need me to tell you that.
All the very best to you, let Fergie carry you along with her excitement of it all; give her chance - she'll be dragging you!
Hugs, Sue xxAlthough I said we were skint what I really meant was we had no money left for treats etc at the end of the month after all the bills had been paid. I used to be so envious when the other mums were going out for tea during the week or popping away for the weekend. We just couldn't afford that. WELL NOW WE CAN
I sat in Nando's with my family pleased as punch and that only cost half of what I have saved now I'm into day 5.
I have visualised the cravings as an old witch beckoning me over with her wizened pointy finger. I give her the finger back and giggle to myself and then the craving is gone.
Maybe I am really hallucinating - lol - but works for me.
Good luck everyone and cling on to what is important to you and what you want most from being a non-smoker.
PS. Getting xmas out of the way then going to book a weekend away at Center Parks. Woohoo!!
Hiya Fergie, goo Heavens you sound like a kiddie at Christmas, which is terrific! :j How quickly it's possible to change from being a resigned puffer to being thrilled to bits with what you can now do with all the cash you save! This time last week there I was wondering if you would give up at all, NOW look at you!!!! :T:T
Isn't it great when all the family get to share in the joy too, your kiddies must be sooooo terribly proud of you and so they should be as thoughts of stopping are the most difficult to muster, once we do that - we're away!!!!!
So much to look ahead to now, Fergie!
Sue x
Great news, lollyfin!! Thanks for the PM and very well done you!!!! You're well on your way to a fresh new life, keep it up whatever you do!!!!!

Hello just poking my head round the door (should be working!) letting you know I'm still sticking with it.
Just goes to show misery loves misery (i.e. a smoker loves a smoker!) have been out with a colleague who smokes today and if she told me once I should not stop smoking right now she told me at least 10 times. Her saying you're too upset at the moment, me saying I'm upset whether I smoke or not so I might as well just be upset and not smoke!
Thanks for agreeing to drag me along fergie! Can you pop round in the mornings and get me to have a shower???!
Hope everyone else is staying stay too xDF as at 30/12/16

Crikey.. I'll leave the professional reply for Sue and the others who know what they are talking about but you just take no notice of people who try to de-motivate you.
You are doing brilliantly and that's a testament to how much you want it.
Onwards and upwards :jxxxx0 -

Hi determined, oh dear, don't you need that like you need a hole in the head eh!Though I can understand what I'm sure she means in one sense it makes a whole lot better reasoning for you to have both lots of sorrow rolled into one; far better than doing it all separately.
Some time in the future I'm hoping you'll feel better having come to accept things much more, but meanwhile you'd be crazy not to mix all emotions together. I'm sure there was a "well I couldn't be doing with it right now attitude" but the skeptical part of me might also think there may just have been a bit of "I feel guilty not having given up yet, so as you've anther reason to keep on puffing for now why not - stay back and keep me company!"
Anyway, we'll forget about her and think more of you and wishing you WELL DONE in having completed your 1st day free from fags!!!! :T In fact you're well past that!! Fantastic news, D, you stick with us and we'll help you through.
How about a run tonight or something similar to get those endorphins released? Exercise is key to helping, D, you know that all too well.
OK then, I'll send Fergie over to motivate you in the morning, but.....would you drop by here first, Fergie, and jolt me?? I'm on extra antihistamines due to terrible all-over itching at the mo and am shattered!! Poor DH has a heck of a job to wake me in the morning, bless him.
Hugs to you, D,
Sue xx
So, going on for 5 complete days then, by golly you're doing brilliantly, Fergie, you're a motivator for all too, keep it up, please!

I'm sure she meant that too, but also do think it's easier for smokers to be around smokers as well! I stuck to my guns, and actually using the patches has taken off the crazy emotional roller coaster edge, so that's good. Think I will stick at this level for 2 weeks and then speak to the CN re reducing the mgs as think I need to face the crazies at some point!
I agree, might as well bundle up sadness in one. I can't get any sadder than now so seems like a good point to do it. Although it does make me feel good to know I'm able to do it!
No running tonight as I damaged my knee last week and am meeting a friend for a catch up. Will go for a swim tomorrow night instead. See you all tomorrow when it'll be day 2 :jDF as at 30/12/16

Hi all, i havent actually posted on this thread, but i did on previous thread, just though i would catch up with you all.
According to silkquit, this is how my not smoking looks:-
Not smoked for:-
Four months, two weeks, four days, 12 hours, 14 minutes and 8 seconds.
2248 cigarettes not smoked,
saving £741.89.
Life saved: 1 week, 19 hours, 20 minutes.
I havent really seen the money as that has gone on clearing the debt and days outs during the summer holidays etc.
I spent the first six weeks of quitting on patches and nothing since then.
Just wanted to say hello to everyone and all the newbies that are quitting, it took me many attempts before i finally quit but i havent looked back.
The only downside to me quitting was the extra weight i have put on, but as soon as my boys are at school, this will be my next accomplisment i hope to achieve.
Good luck to everyone who is just quitting, you can do it!!PAD Maker0 -

Wow go girl!!
You sound really into it and I can tell you were smiling when you typed that.......well done. A bit concerned myself about the patches soaking up all the edgy stuff but I'm just thinking hey-ho let my sticky friend get on with it and I'll ditch him too when ready....lol. Well done you and here's to another day
Awww Sue that sounds awful that itching. I suffer with allergies and sometimes have to take strong antihistamines so I do understand. You are such a strong lady that I know you will get over this with your cheerfulness but just for now lean on everyone else eh and get yourself better xxxx
Hi Mandz....wow you have done great haven't you? Can't wait to be in your position. Welcome
Will pop back later to see everyone so bye for now xxxx
ps - Determined - Get in that shower lol xx0
