  • Day 8 today. Snow everywhere nightmare. Roads haven't been gritted. Not really thinking about smoking anymore. No cravings as such, not really missing it either now. Woohoo!
  • that's brilliant news iaasa! Day 8 and already the thoughts are going out of your mind. I'm really happy for you. Now is just about putting time between you and your quit date. At the time for me it seemed so arduous but now I look back and think it wasn't so bad after all. I still have memories of smoking. By that I mean after/during a situation I think "I could do with a cig" but then the thought goes as quickly as it came and I NEVER think I will act on it now.

annablle really pleased to hear you have decided to give it another bash and so soon after your relapse that's amazing :T how did it go with the CN?

babes21 congratulations on being 2 1/2 weeks free :j you seem so determined in your quit it seems like you are much further along in the journey!

Hope everyone has a healthy and cravings free day x

Hi determined it went fine I've got my 2wks of patches and my mints so my quit date will be this week just getting my head round which day :rotfl: xx
  • That's great news annablle & very inspiring. Honestly when I last relapsed it took me months to pluck up the courage to try again and look where I am now :D

Very brave to try again so soon :A

  • Morning all

Just popping in quickly to say hi, happy No Smoking Day and that I'm still here and hanging around!

I'm on day 36 and still having a bit of trouble on and off with the cravings (mostly weekends) but, on the whole, things are going reasonably well. Still off the patches and just using the gum.

Well done everyone so far and keep at it!

    Have a good day
    xx
  • Morning all! Day 9 today! Woke up feeling a bit like I was having an argument with my subconcious. It was like I was just waiting until I could start smoking again. Very strange really.

But then when I did my run etc and I could run a bit further without wanting to die I felt better so have to keep making sure the positives outweigh the negatives!!!

It's so good to see you just waiting to start again, anablle, I honestly couldn't be happier! :grinheart

It's really good to see you, sunshinesquirrel, and on Day 36!!!! :T:T D'you work in the week and that's the reason for the weekend problems? If so, keep on being just as busy as possible or going out and getting some exercise, both will certainly take your mind off of it.

Being on the gum is marvellous....less to come off of - but not before you're ready to!! You've done brilliantly so far, be very, very proud of yourself and just how far you've already travelled and stay strong and focused so you stay the course! :j You CAN do it, SS!

Hi IAASA, I expect your problem this morning was down to the self conscious still working after Champix dreams. Even having ordinary dreams can often leave me a bit weird after I wake up.

Look at the progress made already in how you can run so much easier!! :j You really are doing so well and have so much to be proud of. Keep the exercise going, DH too hopefully!

  • OH is struggling it would appear. He can't take champix for various reasons and doesn't want nicotine replacement.

He said he wanted to smoke and still wished he could. Wasn't helpful! Hopefully it will get easier for him!
  • I wished I could could smoke for a while after quitting this time iaasa. I longingly stared at smokers, seething with jealousy. It soon goes though and now I just feel real sorry for smokers. It'll pass x

  • Thanks determined, hopefully it will. He is doing it on willpower alone so I know its difficult for him.

I had a dream last night that he was smoking and I was telling him off!! lol

Myself, I'm doing ok, don't think about smoking much at all now. Just the odd pang every now and then. I suppose the tablets are doing what they are meant to!
