Ahh, that's so very good to hear, IAASA.
I can see you point with going to the pub, all I can advise is don't overdo the alcohol, keep to a sensible level so you know what you're doing and are always fully aware.
I'd say perhaps you'd do best not to go outside to where you always used to smoke before, but then again, maybe that would be a good thing to do - only you know that.
Beware of others trying to encourage you (meaningfully or not) to "Have a ciggie". Get the phrase "I no longer smoke thanks" ready just in case....and don't listen to anyone who's daft enough to offer "just one puff or cig won't hurt you" as it will!!
Other than that, have a lovely weekend, the first in your non-smoking life! :j
Wishing you well.
Sue x
Strangely enough out of our mates myself and oh were the only ones left who smoked! It will just be strange being there without popping out every hour or so. I don't drink as a rule so I should be able to keep myself in check. Just don't want to change my routine too much!
OH is out tonight drinking however so it will be a real test for him. I'll have a sneaky sniff when he gets home!! Lol0 -

I'm so pleased to hear you were the only ones left that'll make it a whole lot easier, in which case do as you feel best and keep to your routine. We all know if we can cope with situations or not. If things change for any reason then make an excuse to go early.
Otherwise, have a lovely evening with your friends and enjoy it all - you've earned it!
Believe me after you not smoking for over 3 days, if your OH has resisted temptation he will absolutely reek of the horrible stale smoke!!! To think...we all smelled like that too!
Lets hope he stays true to wanting to overcome this pathetic addiction and remains strong.
Have a great evening and don't forget washing the car tomorrow or Sunday. All the best to you both.
Sue x
Have a really lovely weekend, everyone, and for all those who have stopped, stay strong and be proud.
For all those of you still thinking about stopping - give it a try - even if it's just for a day, then try another day and so on. It CAN be done, so remember - you're no exception - YOU CAN beat it, truly you can!

Thanks all! Was really excited to get the car cleaned out as I've discovered it stinks but the forecast is for rain all day tomorrow with snow showers on Sunday!!! *cries*. Oh well.
At least I won't get ribbed by work next week for going out into the cold.0 -
Well OH came home completely trashed last night. He'd had a smoke but slurred that it didn't taste the same. Christ he stunk! Made my stomach turn tbh! Unfortunatly when he pee'd in the corner of the bedroom that overtook the smoke smell!
Feel ok in myself otherwise not missing it as much as I thought I would today tbh!0 -

Oh dear, thank goodness I wasn't in your house last night!!!! Do you seriously mean it, about him using the bedroom as a urinal?! Actually I think you're going to say yes.
How about you, IAASA, did you go to the pub last night? If so how did it go?
So, all being well, this is Day 5 for you!!!!!!! :j :T :j Champix seems to working in a great way, you too for sure. VERY well done, IAASA!! What a difference between a smoking life and not, and although I know what you mean by 'missing'.....
......you'll never miss out where quitting's concerned...just loads to be gained!! :grinheart
You should be feeling so very chuffed with yourself and rightly so!

Sadly yes, he did per in the corner! Day 6 today and not really had any twinges. Got the appointment with the nurse tomorrow lunchtime for more pills.
Didn't go to the pub as OH couldn't move yesterday morning let alone leave the house! He was sick ALOT yesterday!! I finally chucked the box of ciggys into the wheelie bin yesterday! All going well!0 -

I was going to book us a meal for tomorrow night, but forgot! Lol
I'm sure I'll think of something.0 -
Well this evening has been a bad one. Not because I've particularly wanted to smoke (apart from the usual going to have one and them remembering I don't anymore), but I had my tablet 10ish mins after finishing my dinner as usual and I've felt sick all evening. I don't do feeling sick so it hasn't been a pleasant evening!
I did feel sick this morning after my morning tablet but it passed quite quickly so didn't think much of it. Tonight has been horrible.0
