Determined , warez and of course sue I HAVE FAILED
that's why I've been quiet
7wks free then BOOM instead of driving straight by I went straight in  I have no excuse and believe me I've been beating myself up ever since so plz don't shout .
I've struggled from day one and this thread helped me so much but then it just went so quiet so I didn't have anyone to scream to, it's not an excuse but it was the best thing to keep me on the straight and narrow I really thought I'd cracked it . So all u fellow quitters it is so true u can never ever just have one .
Sorry to have let the 3 ladys that I mentioned downI truly am there is nothing else I can say .
Hi there, anablle! I was coming looking for you tonight IF you hadn't made an appearance, but.......
Right, now to start with, you have NOT failed! So, free those words from your mind. To fail is never to try in the first place, but you did!
As determined says, dust yourself down and get right back into it, but don't get flogging yourself over it as I had 2 tries before I stopped completely.....I lasted just days - you went for weeks!!
At any time you want.need help, anablle, put a post here! I have a look several times a day (even though I'm subscribed to the thread) to see if anyone is here, so come on to the thread - that's what entices people out here with you.
Failing that, you have several ways to contact me now - use them to do so.....in other words - shout for help in any way!
You don't say what's happening now, are you coming back and starting over? I hope so (she says through clenched teeth) - and if you do then you can keep IAASA company and vice versa.
Let us know where you're at...or either e-mail me, PM me or whatever, but do try hard not to just let all that hard work go by. It's a real shame you had a weak moment, but no one would ever shout at you...we might glare...but never shout.
Talk soon.
Hugs a plenty, Sue xxx :kisses3:
That's another 2 days added to your 6 months then, determined!!! :j
Sue xiamashoppingaddict wrote: »Well. I had a smoke last night after work at about 5.10pm and I haven't had one since. Not that I didn't want one mind you. That horrible feeling in my stomach just doesn't want to seem to go away and its getting on my nerves!
I don't want to do something else like chew gum or something because its just substituting the smoke for something else. I want to get over this, I don't want to spend the rest of my life wanting a ciggy! Today is my first full day in the office not smoking. I haven't brought any with me. I walked straight past them this morning when I left the house and I feel like I've achieved something.
Hi again, IAASA, that really is wonderful news!!!!! :j :T :j You most certainly HAVE achieved something mammoth, believe me! Even with the steps you've taken already it's so much to be really proud of so give yourself a pat on the back, you really do deserve it!! :grinheart
I know you say those horrible feelings in your stomach are getting on your nerves, but don't you think it is nerves that's causing it?
Remember, stopping the fags is huge after the years you've smoked for so it's bound to get you a bit hyped up.
However, bit by bit, day by day, you'll get over it and relax into starting to feel free of the blasted things!
I'm sure you'll find the pills are making it easier - it could be worse without them on your side, and I'm sure that's right; the trouble is we build ourselves up in such a way beforehand and convince ourselves we won't be able to handle it...little wonder we're then in a nervous state.
IF you don't have drink problems (sorry, but it has to be pointed out) then do get yourself some "Rescue Remedy", a completely herbal remedy that really helps settle the nerves. A few drops of that on the tongue (it's in a little brandy) and it does settle you down.
Although your last word in your post was "Help!" look what you've accomplished all by yourself! Keep going and never, ever give in! Nicotine has help you in it's clutches for way to long - don't allow it to do so anymore.
We are with you and understand all you're going through - we've been there too remember!
Go on, IAASA, together we'll get you where you want to be.
Hugs, Sue xxx
BTW, I'm off out in a mo with DH as it's my Birthday, will be back later!

Ok well I'm a lot calmer than this morning and I honestly think the tablets are helping now thank god! I've now taken 3 of the 1mg now and the horrible stomach feeling is there but a hell of a lot more bearable which is great!
The 10am and 11.30am breaks passed without incident. A little bit of looking at the clock and thinking to myself that I should be going out now. So instead I went and used the loo downstairs instead of the one on the same floor as me. Despite the fact its a lovely day today I'm not going to go out for lunch, I'm going to move to a colleagues office and do some college work instead. I feel a little better.
I don't drink. My father had/has a problem and I don't like it. So very rarely drink if ever tbh! I need to get rid of the 3 ciggy's I have at home now. Should have put them in the wheelie bin last night actually but didn't think of it.
OH is trying to give up on willpower alone and says he feels good about himself but then said 'I hope we keep this up'. That annoyed me a little as I need positivity, not I hopes.
I don't need to smoke, I'm not missing anything at all!!!!
Sorry bit of a rant there!! lol0 -
Hit my 2nd year of stopping smoking today, got up to find a card from my husband saying how proud he was of me and put £20.00 in to get myself a treat. Keep going you will beat the dreaded ciggies and good luck to everyone who is trying:-)0

Marvellous news, IAASA!!!!! :j :T :j I wasn't expecting you to sound so happy about it all, but you really are doing fantastically and sound like a different person!!!!!
I'm delighted the pills have finally kicked in, though I think having actually stopped the fags has helped you no end...you've now finished with them!
Well done with the downstairs loo and colleague's office, anything that helps - do it! Having said that, do get yourself fresh air to breathe into those recovering lungs. :grinheart Exercise too as it really helps you feel so good.
It's good to hear that your DH has stopped too, you might remind him that men usually find it easier than us women as they don't have the hormone problems that we do!Give each other love and plenty of support and you'll get there - and yourselves save a fortune!
Always remember your highlighted words above.
BTW, we don't recognise rants...we expect them as they do you good. Rant away whenever you wish.

Keep on striving forwards, everyone, this is a journey like no other that you'll take and once you reach that goal you'll know just what I and all those like me mean. Be happy, be patient and be so very proud of each and everyone you don't have - it's a milestone! :grinheart

Well progress is being made. I'm still in an upbeat mood. I keep saying in my head that I don't miss it and give myself lots of reasons why I should miss it, yet I still do! Its only day 2 and need to give it time. The tablets are making it a hell of a difference and I don't think I'd be doing it without them. I also may need to give the Alan Carr book another read.
Also when I get distracted by watch TV for example, when the programme ends I say right smoke now and then have to go Oh Yeah!!
But otherwise I'm doing ok........
Oh forgot, was on site earlier and people were smoking around me and it didn't freak me out! That was my first test passed!
Second test will be getting through the weekend!! Will clean my car out as well, as I've noticed it smells a bit!
Ohhhh and my cough isn't as bad either!!!!!
Ok think thats everything! Will be back later.0 -
Ohhhh and my cough isn't as bad either!!!!
Being on Day 2, IAASA, and feeling as you do is just how we all were at that stage..you're normal. You'll get a lot of "oooh, I forgot, I no longer smoke now!" It's amazing how quickly you adapt though.
I was quite shocked at how quickly my cough went, sounds like you are too, so now think of all the things that don't show or we can't see and how they too will be affected in time - for you both!
Very well done with managing the smokers so well, you'll soon be seeing just how much they reek of it, that's a huge turn-off and gets us thinking "did I really smoke like THAT!!"
Get a list of 'to do' jobs ready for the weekend so you don't have an idol mind, cleaning the car is always a good starter.
You really are doing extremely well and every hour you don't smoke is an amazing triumph. You've so much to be proud of.
Onward you go!

Thanks Sue! Bloody nausea has now started to set in. Urgh. I can cope but it's a bit horrible. At least I'm thinking of that and nothing else! Passes after an hour thankfully!0 -

Oh dear, so it came then, a bit late though for certain.
I expect you do anyway, but do make sure you're eating enough before...not just a snack but a proper breakfast etc.
You'll probably find it will soon pass, by then you'll be well into wanting to stay stopped anyway!
Take care and remember that whatever stage you're at - there are always plenty of others feeling just as you do.

Thanks Sue. Yep I take the pill in the morning after I've eaten my porridge and in the evening after I've eaten my dinner. Wasn't soooo bad last night so that was good.
Have only really thought 'oh yeah' to having a ciggy once this morning. So definate progress! :j0
