  • Day 7 today! Thankfully recovered from my horrible evening!

Got nurses appointment this morning so will probably get more tablets. Haven't got on to take this morning so that will be interesting!!!! Will get prescription and take one at lunch and then this evening so that I don't miss one. Well depends on what I get given though I suppose.

Anyway onwards and upwards. Hope everyone is ok?

    Hello everyone,

2 weeks and 3 days for me today :T.

I'm so much more determined this time around, I tried to stop briefly around a month or so ago but had a little setback.

I now see a No Smoking Nurse once every 2 weeks and that as really helped me to stay focussed. I'm on the 15mg patches (Step 2 as the Step 1 was far too strong for me) and I sometimes use the Inhulator aid which takes the edge of a little when the cravings are at their highest.

I have felt sick quite often but try to let it past, it quickly fades away.

Well done for those who are sticking to it, think of how much healthier we all are and how much money we have saved ;).

    Day 7 today!

7 Days and such a terrific achievement, IAASA!!!!!! :T:T Be very, very proud of all you've done so far as it really is wonderful!! :j
Good to hear you're seeing the CN today, it'll help. No need to worry unduly about the pill so long as you take it at lunch time.

How about your OH, is he still off cigs after you binned what was left??

Very well done indeed, and ride the storm with the Champix, the short term pain for the long term gain. I think we all despise being sick, but inevitable at times. :(

You're doing really, really well - be happy about that - and saving all that much needed cash. :D

Hi there, babes, it's really lovely to see you and to know you're so determined to finally kick it once and for all!
2 weeks and 3 days is just marvellous!!!! :j:T:T:j
I'm so very pleased you're now seeing the Cessation Nurse as, for so many folk, they can be a vital link for the physical contact necessary which is great!!

If using the inhalator on occasions helps you get through then go for it, just do as you're doing now and keep it to a minimum, but better to use temporarily and get through it all than not use it and mess things up! :grinheart

Chuffed to bits for you, Sue xx :D

    Helloooo there, anablle!! :D

I was just about to post, then realised I'd had some mail in, and there you were.

It's so good to know that you too are going to see the Cessation Nurse, keep up appointments with her and you'll be ok.

Soo pleased you're back and rearing to go again.

    Hugs, Sue xx

  • Thanks Sue. Yes he's still off them as well thankfully! He doesn't even remember having that ciggy so I suspect that has helped him!

    Debt-free and Proud!
    About money.

My app on the Iphone tells me I have saved £395.34 since stopping smoking. For the first month or three I never really noticed because although I wasn't spending that money on cigarettes I was spending it on other things without really thinking. For the first time this month I have been checking my bank account and thinking 'it hasn't gone down, that's weird, surely I must have spent something' and I think its the not smoking, and not spending the fag money on junk food!
So if you can, put the money aside even just for a little while. Its a very nice feeling having that bit of a cushion instead of scrabbling around for the next few quid to buy cigs. x

  • Well I'm just pleased that I'm having lots of no spend days instead! Although I did just spend £12.99 on the last twilight movie!! Oh well, at least I then didn't spend £12 on smokes instead!!

Nurse appointment went well. Given some more and then get to blow into the machine in 2 weeks. Wanted to do it today so see how I was getting on but wasn't allowed sadly.

Hi 166million, good to see you dropping in to give some very helpful advice. :D

I quite agree with what you're saying, and whether folk need to save or not, isn't it just wonderful to see what you no longer give away simply to burn! :j

    Keep banking it, 166!!

Aha! It sounds as though your OH was too far gone to realise what he'd done anyway then, IAASA, great work!! :rotfl:

I reckon spending out for the Twilight movie could well be justified as a treat for going a whole week without the evil weed, surely!

I'm very surprised at your CN not letting you blow into the CM meter for added incentive, though I guess they all have their own ways and maybe she would sooner you wait and have a zero rather than a 1 or 2 reading. A method to her madness no doubt..though don't tell her I used those last exact words for Heavens sake!!! ;)
    Sue x

Onward you go everyone, and do please be happy with however far through you are as it's still a HUGE achievement!! :D
