That first social event with people you used to smoke with is a real challenge. I remember mine and it was at about the same point as you. The thought pops into your mind and then if you say no (which you did :T) it goes again! Well done x
Welcome Candy hope you will be very happy here. Happy to hear you have taken those first steps to freedom, luckily Sue will wrap her supporting and smoothing comments around you. I do believe Sue's support has been the biggest factor in my ceasing success! Keep posting on here whenever you have urges and someone will be around to give you a helping hand.
Sunshine & Warrez sorry you've faced a hurdle, they come and go sadly. But they do get less and less x
Thanks alot
Yeah, I'm really determined to give it a go now, and Sue has been a great support already.
Well done 'anablle'. I'll hope to get where you are.

Good to see you back here, Candy, and from all you've said it sounds as though you're ready to get going and do all you can to try your levels best.
Well done in preparing with the carrots, celery and nuts, but don't forget the water as it will fill you up and help a lot in you not wanting to turn to other things to fill the gap.
Try a glassful 1/2 hr before meals, not less than 1/2 hr or it will wash away the enzymes needed for digestion.
At other times sip it as often as you wish.
Onwards you'll soon be going!

Hello there xmercx!! Although it's lovely to see you again...I do wish it wasn't for the same reason.
Never mind, let it go and move on again, but just never do whatever it was that made you restart. You know full well that it was never worth it. BTW, by which means did you quit last time?
Now, you're already on the champix and looking ahead to your start date. You've already done it once so there's no reason you can't do it again.
Keep going back to the C Nurse as that physical contact will be good for you and give you a push for each week/fortnight. Also talk to us here, xmercx, especially at moments of temptation as it's vital to reach out to others who understand.
Hopefully you'll remember all the other ways you can help yourself too, but I'll send on a PM just in case you've forgotten. Although you're feeling low right now, don't kick yourself too hard as this brute Nic tries his best to keep us in his clutches - we just have to show him that now.....it's us who are in control!!
You can do it, xmercx!
To help you a little more whilst the Champix kick in, start each day with the Quitters Pledge remember.Quitters Pledge"Today I promise not to smoke any cigarettes, tomorrow - if I wish - I may do."Renew the pledge every morning on waking. This helps in not making quitting feel as though you're planning something lifelong, it helps trick the mind in taking it all one day at a time. The lifelong part you determine for yourself when you're ready.
Very best wishes!

Hi xmercx  welcome back. Sorry to hear you fell off the wagon, they do say, however, relapsing is part of the cycle so welcome. Dust yourself off and start again :money: I'm a third timer myself! (and that's just the times with the support of this thread!)
I found this time round I had to look at why I relapsed the previous times and put in plans to avoid those situations. I have also found each time I have quit the first few days to be torturous so have now decided I WON'T put myself through that again, I just can't go through it.
Godd luck come Friday or Saturday totally believe in you xDF as at 30/12/16

Hiya Lippycow and what some splendid news you bring with you!!!!! :T I won't say any more than that (congratulations wise) about the actual time until it comes....safety etc. Hey, that'll be my Birthday! What an omen for you all that time ago, well maybe not.
I'm so pleased you've come on today as it'll be a huge incentive to those who are quite a way in....even more so to those just starting, to know they too can do it IF they really do want to, and I'm quite sure they do!! :j
Thanks so much, Lippy, and please come back on the day itself if it's possible.
Meanwhile, congratulations for so long, you've really done yourself proud and I'm not at all surprised to hear about your family as our pride has a real knock-on effect!!!
See you soon Lippy.

Hi everyone
Well, here I am on day 13. Can't quite believe it that I've made it into double figures. Things have been ok - yesterday was a bit of a bummer - I think I took the word grumpy to a new level! Today has been totally fine though. Went for a long walk along the beach late morning and stopped at the pub for lunch. Did a bit of weeding in the garden and now sat here with a wee glass of wine. Good days and bad days I suppose.
However, I've got a wee app on my phone and the stats tell me that I've not smoked 185 cigarettes. I've been putting the cash away and I've actually saved £93 as I used to buy cigs weekly and haven't bought any for 3 weeks.
Anyway, well done to everyone so far - you are all doing amazingly well and good luck to all at the start of the journey.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend

Welcome new and old
a question to the ones that have made it with flyin colours :T Where is that feeling of euphoria ????? I've had my moments as anyone who has followed my journey will know  then I felt great and it didn't bother me but I've never quite felt that elation that I've heard people talk about
ie .. " I feel amazing best thing I've ever done " etc .
The sun was out and it felt like spring and I love the sun more then life itself :rotfl: and all I thought of was I won't be sitting in my garden with my wine and fags anymore  how crazy is that does it ever stop plz somebody tell me it does xxxx0 -

Hi sunshinesquirrel, I'm so pleased you've come back to say how you're doing as I was wondering about you yesterday afternoon.
You've worked it out for yourself then I see, some days good, others not so. However, it usually follows that if we have a bad day then the next will turn out a lot better.
After having a rough day yesterday I was so thrilled to see all you'd done today and how it worked in your favour! :T:T Very well done on getting out in the sun and doing some exercise! Both are marvellous for us, even more so when you're stopping smoking.
A smart move on getting the app, things like that help us a lot as it keeps us motivated; keep checking it and spurring yourself on to a far healthier way of life. You're so close to that magical fortnight now, I'm so chuffed for you...so proud at how you're doing! Keep it up and stay strong!
Hugs, Sue xx
Be patient, anablle, we're all individuals and where some folk feel euphoric a few days in another will take a little while to reach that stage. In truth though, most people get hit by the "I'm actually doing this!" :j after a couple of weeks, but you got off to a rough start, then again the wine didn't help you.
Some people are more emotional too (the category I fall into!) and I couldn't contain the excitement that I felt as I'd more or less resigned myself to never being able to quit and was therefore ecstatic after a few days :grinheart then after a fortnight I just knew I'd never go back!!!! You can imagine how I was by then! :j
We're all different, so don't get disheartened, as fact of the matter is ~ as you're still doing fantastically!! :T:T:T:T So be patient and do let us know when you get the sudden feeling of not being able to contain yourself for excitement.
You might not be that way at all, you may just quietly accept that you've stopped and are very pleased with yourself and content with that alone; as I say, we're all different.
More than anything else, anablle, be so proud of how well you've done and at the amount of your journey travelled so far, be content!
