Thank you all!
I love the one about spending them to a parlour to get a bath!
They will hate me for it! HAHAHA! that'll teach em!
No way i'm doing it ... they would sratch meto pieces.
I dont have a tumble dyer but may have to check out the locals ads for one.
Also will def try the damp rubber glove.
Cheers everyone!
May i could shave them or swap em for two of them bald cats... (just kidding)0 -
Pity me I've got a red persian, I know all about hairs!!!
Mine gets a bath now & then. He doesn't mind it. In fact he loves playing with water (running taps, hosepipes ECT - puts his paw in to splash it everywhere).
A clothes brush or selotape is what I use, but it's a never ending battle. I threaten him with a skinhead now & then, LOL!!!

kimevans you sure you have a cat? Don't sound like one to me
My two are happy to provide you with a real life "what happens when you bathe a cat" experience... complete with gashes and deep flesh wounds.
I had to wash one of mine last summer... I am still finding little streaks of mud when I clean my bathroom... some on the ceilnig I don't think I'll ever get rid off *sigh*
Thankfully my blood all washed off the bathtub though
If you wanted to get really extreem you could touble dry the cat too(JOKE!!) that should get rid of excess hairs :rotfl:

I had a plumber in a month ago to change a rad, he drained the system from a hose pipe he ran out the front door. He was amazed to find my cat outside playing in the water:rotfl:
If you are running a tap, he sometimes thinks its funny to put a paw in & splash it everywhere. He loves water, especially running. As soon as anyone runs a tap or the shower in the bathroom, hes in there just watching (maybe hes just a perv).
He's not so keen on the hairdryer but will suffer it. I think it's what they're used to, mine has been bathed since he was a kitten. I'm not saying he loves baths, he puts up with them. He just likes to splash & play with water.
A workman once said when i refered to him as a cat, he said you sure? He looks like something that should be in a cage at the zoo:rotfl:0 -
Mine love running water too! Hate baths (only tried once) but both stick their head and paws under a running tap to play with, then try to shake the water off.New year, no debt! Debt free date - 02/01/07 :j :j :j0

how about giving the cats a brush daily to try and minimise stray hairs dropping out all over your house, it should only take a minute or 2 :jproper prior planning prevents !!!!!! poor performance!Only when the last tree has died and the last river been poisoned and the last fish been caught will we realise we cannot eat moneyquote from an american indian.0

Hmmm mine seem to think water is evil and should be avoided... well unless it's my boy cat... he likes to visit you in the bath... he hops up and drinks the bathwater and eats the foam... daft anomal loves it! Fell in the other week when OH was having a bath which by all accounts was quite funny heeheeDFW Nerd #025DFW no more! Officially debt free 2017 - now joining the MFW's!

You can't do anything about cat hair except either get rid of the cats or learn to live with the hair.
I find that combing daily with a flea comb, outdoors, is helpful in getting rid of excess hair, especially when they are moulting - also it helps prevent or lessen the risk of furballs. A flea comb has teeth that are closer together and it gets more of the loose hair. Your cats will adore you for it.
I tend to restrict parts of the house that my cat is allowed into, especially during the summer - and then hoover daily, or every other day, the parts she is allowed into.
I know this is not ideal for everyone but it suits me and her and it seems a good compromise.0
