I had to have new vertical drops only and the guy recommended that I bought material which would not have hair sticking to it so I did as I have 2 cats. Mind you the old ones I have tried to wash in the washing machine and ironed with spray starch and apart from them being too long - will have to take them up as have new windows and ledges they will do again if needed. They came up wonderfully well and clean againSaving in my terramundi pot £2, £1 and 50p just for me! :j0

Or the MSE alternative the local market or pound shop LOL0 -
Yes I have 3 cats , one in photo with huge amounts of fur !
I have invested in the lint rollers - I buy a six pack from costco at a very cheap price ( about £12 if my memorary serves me well but have not bought them for a while- they last quite long ) and want to warn you to price around for them. Dont get them at supermarkets etc, Im not sure if the poundshop sells them but you can get them at a cheap price and they are really worth it.DONT get these magic brush things you see in homebase etc they are rubbish.
The lint rollers take hairs off anything, my Oh has a black uniform that gets covered in hairs but just give a rub down with a lint roller and he is fine again. :rotfl:0 -
You can get the sticky rollers from local pound shops, they wash and can be used again...a must with a cat in the house. If you obey all the rules...you miss all the fun!! Katherine Hepburn0

Hi all,
serious help needed..
I have two lovely, beautiful (but hairy) cats Elvis & Marvin!
The problem is that as much as i brush them their hairs get everywhere.
All my clothes come out of the washing machine covered in hairs!!
I'm desperatly seeking some kind of old style way of solving this..?
i love the little !!!!!!s to peices but getting sick of waking up to cat fuff!
I have started to keep the bedroom door shut - to keep them off the bed, but what else can i do!?0 -
Anthea Turner in "Perfect Housewife" - uses a damp rubber glove to remove pet hairs from furniture and carpets so might be worth trying on clothes0

quick tumble dry when clothes are dry removes pet hair.Check labels first.!0 mins should suffice
Brown pacel tape removed cat hair from my cars mohair roof a treat0 -
damp cloth, rubber glove. Yes tumble drier works well - unless the cat decides a washing basket of clean clothes is a great bed! One of those velvety clothes brushes - I can't remember what they are called you know the red ones.
Only wear clothes the same colour as your cat! - hard if they are tabby! Have house clothes that don't matter and don't fuss them in going out clothes.0 -
I have 2 cats (black) and one GSD/BC cross and oh boy do I know about hairs!!!! OH hates the hairs, loves the pets - main issue is havign to hoover either every day or at least every second as the dog molts like you wouldn't believe!!! No matter what I wear hairs show up as if I wear black it's the tan hairs from the dog and if it's lighter colours then it's the black hairs from the cats!
Solution? Get changed just before you leave the house and use your touble drier with a bounce sheet in it. This gets the hairs off the clothes and sheets and everything else. Use the clothes rollers when you go out to remove the final little stubborn hairs and hoover often and lots!
At the risk of physical maiming I would also suggest washign the cats once or twice a year... it helps remove a lot of dead hairsIf you don't fancy doing it then send them to a cat parlour...
