Cat, dog and other pet hairs... Aggghhh

I only ever use tea-towels to dry my hands on in the kitchen or for handling hot tins/pans so it makes no difference really, although I've not really noticed any cat hairs on them as they're hung straight onto a rack hanging from the kitchen radiator and don't really come into contact with the cats
All pots/pans/plates etc are air-dried on the sink rack before being put away as I hate the thought of contaminating stuff with tea-towels"An Ye Harm None, Do What Ye Will"

If one crept up behind me ..... you probably wouldn't see me for dust LOL
Seriously though, my dd wanted one when she was younger; before I'd saved up, she'd progressed onto rabbits - *phew*!

Sorry if this is in the wrong place
My little black cat has been rubbing against my white conservatory blinds (the material hang down types, not a roller blind type), being male and living alone I dont have a clue , I tried to get it off with the hoover but it was a nightmare and the blinds just stuck to the hoover. I thought maybe sticky tape to get the cat hair off?
any thoughts...please :j0 -
Have you tried using damp 'marigold' gloves. Just run your gloved hands down the blinds and the damp gloves pick up the hair and dust - works for me (as well as getting pet hair off stair carpets) =o) :j0

I have vertical blinds and my cat is the same. She loves a sunny windowsill.
Unless you bar the cat from the windowsill which is not easily enforceable all the time - you're stuck with cleaning the blinds.
I used a small flat attachment on the end of my hoover and by twiddling the blind all in the same direction I can do one side, then twiddle them all the other way for the other side. It's quicker I find.
As for the individual 'drops' you just need to pull them taut from the bottom and run the hoover over them.
Alternatively, at some times you could consider pulling the blinds back a bit leaving a gap for the cat!0 -
I would try your sticky tape idea, it is good for getting pet hair off upholstery.0

i have a lint roller which is pretty much like sticky tape. I also use the hoover attachemnt. If you ahve pets they will never be fur free cos as soon as you ahve done the the cat will be back on the window ledge. I agree with OP just keep them open a bit and hope the cat will sunbath in the blind free bit.

I think the sticky roller, followed by damp marygolds and then holding down the individual blind for a final hoover might just do it.
Thankyou for all your help.0
