Sold my first one to Europe!

Glad I changed them now and took the plunge for the lighter ones.

Still slow but steady so no complaints... Am trying a few on greenmet too to see how it goes ....

I,m a bit wary of selling in Europe but if things dont pick up soon I,ll be seriously considering it. Can it be a little more dodgy? or does the payment thingy go through on the same basis?

    Hi Teedy

There's no real problem selling to Europe, the buyer is charged £3.94 P&P of which you get £3.40. It costs £3.40 to send 560g at the 'printed papers' rate. You don't need a customs label to send to Europe - so pretty easy all in all.

I don't lose any more when posting to Europe compared to UK either.

  • By the way Rupert, have you got round to doing a bulk upload on Play yet? It's almost a full month since I did my upload and have sold about 75 books, compared to 57 on Amazon with 3 times the number of listings. I like Play.com:j

    Hi teedy
Payments just the same - you just need to watch the air mail postage - you get extra from Amazon but am restricting weights to 450gms as per Rare_stuff's suggestion. Over that and you can lose out.

Just a quick question following on from my post HERE - I hope it is OK to ask on this thread, it's just that it seemed the best place as you are all Amazon sellers!!

Is it common for sellers to spray books with air freshners to get rid of the 'musty' smell, or is the above link just probably just a one-off? The reason I'm asking if anyone here does this is because I'm now wondering if this is quite common and I have been lucky so far. If it is, then I think it's best for me to avoid buying second-hand books in the future!

    Thanks for any replies:)
  • I think that your book may have been one that had a strong smell of cigarette smoke - so maybe for you the second smell was no better than the first....it's a real problem with smokey books, I would HATE to have a smokey book in the house, particulary one that I might want to read in bed so it's a conundrum as to what to do with a book that's in great condition in all other respects

 No! I have been busyy doing other stuff, though am selling quite a few copies of a video game I have in stock on play for double the amount it currently is priced at on amazon. But still feel a complete newb as I have yet to receive any feedback!

Will have to get around to working on the bulk upload thing again, but I need another 3hours in the day at the moment!

Also, yesterday was a great day here! I sold a £50 book I'd bought for a fiver a couple of weeks ago. And my aStore had it's highest ever click-thru/conversion rate from someone ordering a dozen CD's, so am now earning 5.5% commission and only need a few more orders to get to the 6% level!
