I've been listing all my 'popular' paperbacks on GreenMetropolis for a couple of years and have had a reasonable amount of success. Even after paying the postage I'm more in profit than by carbooting them at 20p/30p a time which is all the cheap-skates round here are prepared to pay! Then, since early February no sales whatsoever:eek:
I was getting quite depressed seeing the vast amount I still had to clear(mainly bought for my own entertainment when I was spending like there was no tomorrow:o, or picked up for pence at bootsales etc) and planned to carboot the lot at the next opportunity. If the weather had been good on Sunday I'd have taken the lot off GM and tried to sell them at a bootsale for a ridiculously low price just to see the back of them. Torrential rain put paid to that, thank goodness:j .
I had 5 sales on GM yesterday and have just come back from posting them to find 3 more sales notifications on my computer:T. I just don't believe it, that's 8 sold in 24 hours for much more(even after postage) than I'd have sold the whole bookcase-full for at a carboot. These are just your common run-of-the-mill paperbacks that go for 1p (if they sell at all!)on Amazon!
There'll probably be a lull now for monthsbut It's given me enough faith to keep them on GM for a while longer!

Will have to get around to working on the bulk upload thing again, but I need another 3hours in the day at the moment!
Also, yesterday was a great day here! I sold a £50 book I'd bought for a fiver a couple of weeks ago. And my aStore had it's highest ever click-thru/conversion rate from someone ordering a dozen CD's, so am now earning 5.5% commission and only need a few more orders to get to the 6% level!
I've still only got 3 feedbacks, it's really easy to leave fb on Play, when you go back into your order history there's a big green button that says feedback - so I don't know why buyers aren't leaving any.
Congrats on your £50 sale and your commission rate - sounds like you're doing well :T

Well if you are a Pro Seller you can make up your own pages, and looking at this selection you can list just about anything:

Sort of like BIN on Ebay but without the up front fees.

Hi, when you guys post to europe do you use air mail? I am considering changing my listings as sales are very poor and you all seem to be ahving better sales in europe.
Thanks in advanceLife may not be the party we hoped for, but while we're here we should dance....0 -

As stated in the Participation agreement, all international orders MUST be sent Airmail.
A couple of things to note though -
If you are sending items that weigh more than 500gm abroad you will use almost all of the shipping fee that amazon provide, and if you aren't a PM seller the 88p pre item fee will make this less too. I make my cut off at about 400gm to allow myself to make money sending penny items abroad
Sending by Printed Papers rate Airmail is slightly cheaper than using Small Packet rate. Make sure you write "Printed Papers" in the topleft of the envelope, and ask clearly at the PO for Printed Paper Airmail. If using Printed Paper rate, you do not have to do customs forms for Books for the vast majority of destinations, only a couple of bizarre ones like Venuzeula, Cuba, Vietnam I think are a coupleof them.Do You Twitter?

in my experience when i have sent something like a light book there is hardly any difference between postage to the uk and air mail
