Am thinking of offering to Europe rather than just UK - have folks here found it increased sales significantly? I have sold one abroad cos they wrote and asked me and I changed it for them, but all my listings are for UK only at the moment.
Thought this was covered this in this post on the previous page

Get some scales, if the book weighs under 500g you will not make a loss posting it as long as your packaging isn't too over the top. The more it weighs under 500g the more profit you will make from an international sale than a UK sale. Personally I make the cut off point at 450g myself, especially if it is only a penny book.Do You Twitter?

It wasnt the cost implications I was after - it was the effect on sales. But thanks anyway0 -

isbn 0901332488
it is listed on amazon.. but with none for sale....

the author of the book is from ammanford...... which is very close to me....

After a rubbish week last week, I had five sales and a pending yesterday. The pending went through today, plus another sale :j
Re the selling to Europe thing, I've only ever had one European sale - rather bizarrely it was an opera CD which was bought by someone in Italy0 -

How can you check pending sales?
I have one, but the first i knew about it was when amazon emailed me and told me it was pending and not to send book til it was sorted!"I have enough money to last me the rest of my life, unless I buy something."0 -

Hi D
I sold a book to Italy over the weekend called "Coal and Iron Community in the Industrial Revolution" and a Mills and Boon to Norway today - must be the long winter nights!!!
I think it is well worth listing to Europe and Worldwide, especially with the lighter books, the 500g rule of thumb is a good guide as the Amazon postage credit will cover your postage costs.
If a book is listed at quite a high price but is heavier than 500g you may still consider listing EU and Worldwide, because a sale where you lose a bit on the postage is better than no sale at all - just be careful if you do any repricing.
Ask yourself "why not?", it opens up your books to so many more people with very little extra effort - still have to pack and post (an occasional customs label is required - but that's about it).
Happy selling.
