I thought the responses sounded quite reasonable, it's hard to strike a balance between being apologetic and letting future buyers know that you had an honest/detailed description.

Phew selling fairy been up here for a visit at last :j After about 12 days with only a 1p sale and a pending that didn't go through sold 2 yesterday! One for £13 & one for £16 so am well pleased.
One of those was a pending that actually went through - never had that before normally they don't seem to work out but pleased that one did as it was the £16
Also was checking my listings and on quite a few I've moved to being the lowest price. They were books that I thought it wasn't worth matching the lowest exisitng listing if they were heavy or big books so I thought I'd just put mine on higher and wait. Wonder if there's been a bit more activity on Amazon this week with sales generally to shift all those cheaper books?0 -
I sold a book, I sold a book - my first ever! And it was that difficult one, that I posted on here about five times for! I really hope this goes okay and the buyer isn't disappointed. Total that I got: £13.81, have to see how much the postage is, I've been generous with the size of the bubble envelope too, so happy to be off the ground and someone trusted a first time seller! Thanks everyone!2023: the year I get to buy a car0

Hi Teedy,
generally book club books have a different ISBN to the 'regular' ones so thats why they aren't coming up if you are using the ISBN to list.
You could search using author or title but be wary if you list them this way as not all buyers read descriptions so even if you put its a book club edition in BIG LETTERS some folk won't notice and may be miffed.
Depending on size, value etc you could put them on GreenMetropolis, sales are usually slower and you get maximum £3 [plus postage for bigger/heavier books]. The advantage tho is that you can list books yourself if they are not in the GM catalogue - its quite easy.
I had some very smoke smelly books to sell for someone else and got some good tips on freshening them from the Amazon sellers board - it was a bit of a palaver but worked a treat on about 20 books. Let me know if you want more info [and it helps if you have a cat!!!] Make sure the strips from mags wont mark the book pages when you put them in - presumably they are coated with perfume so it may leak out with the weight of the book being closed?
Good luck
