Postage credit for books is £2.26 UK, £3.40 EU, £5.85 USA, and £6.42 rest of world - don't ask me why you get less for USA compared to rest of world, it costs the same to post there
The links below take you to the detailed pages which will give you the postage credits for CD's, DVD's, etc

So, make sure you know how much it is going to cost to send and the postage credit you will receive before you set the price of any book, or you may decide to only offer it to UK or UK and EU.

This depends on the weight of the packed book, if under about 500grams amazons postage credit will cover it being sent airmail worldwide. If over you may want to just offer UK postage, but include in the description that the item is heavy and international postage is available by arrangement.
Recently I sold a heavy book to the US and they were happy to pay the extra postage charge of £7 I quoted them, so I went and edited the listing changing price and making available for international delivery. Unfortunately amazon screwed it up and the buyer bought it when the dispatch details had been updated but before the pricing took effect! Luckily the buyer was a diamond and paid me the £7 by paypal. Amazon weren't very helpful, telling me to cancel the sale and re-list!!! So if you do something like this update the price first and check it has updated before updating delivery options, don't imagine that both updates will go live at the same time!Do You Twitter?

That's because amazon is a US company and they protect/favour the home market. Have you never wondered why there is so many US sellers on the UK site but very few UK sellers on .com?Do You Twitter?

I've been busy listing, up to almost 900 books now and am still struggling with sales.
I am considering selling off some of my books as job lots on ebay and maybe looking for different stock, maybe if i get time in a few weeks I'll think about it. At this rate though it won't be worth me staying a pro seller once I've had my 3 months half price which is such a shame.
Oh and I sold another unread book yesterday. Got it out, put it on the table ready to wrap and noticed OH browsing it. He thought I'd bought it for him and was really chuffed as it was out of print and he'd wanted it for a while..had to explain that he only had until 7am this morning to read it as I needed to pack it!I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
