Hi everyone...new thread, took me a few days to notice...again!
My sales have been good actually, I thought it had picked up for everyone. I haven't listed any books for a couple of weeks and I am still getting sales, I am convinced it is because I went through every book and re-priced according to current competition and that seemed to help as I have sold a few oldies.

Hi Kat
I've just been doing that very thing, some up and some down and some just left alone! Several where new sellers price below what they will get after they post it - they can't all be on the Royal Mail business post rate! Still mine seem to sell higher than lowest listed price a lot of the time so I am not over bothered!0 -
Am thinking of offering to Europe rather than just UK - have folks here found it increased sales significantly? I have sold one abroad cos they wrote and asked me and I changed it for them, but all my listings are for UK only at the moment.0

hi boston-uk,
I changed my listings to international and expected a large influx of foreign buyers, ive had one !! still was worth it as received £5 odd for postage that only cost £1.87
Have you contacted the description stealer ? I dont think it would be unreasonable to drop them a quick note asking them to be a bit more original, unless of course they dont actually have the book !

I offer overseas postage on about a third of my items, so far I think I've actually only sold one to someone in Europe.

I list all but the heaviest books for international sales. I've found that CDs and cassette tapes (of all things!) have sold well internationally.
I also sent a book to Australia a few weeks ago and I got positive feedback within a week so it was a fast service! Incidentally, I've found that the postage increase has always more than covered the actual cost and I've ended up making more profit than I would have done on a UK sale. :cool:0 -
Had my first neutral feedback today;
""goods arrived as advertised" Grrrr - What else would the expect?
I have emailed apologising that they were not 100% satisfied with the service and have asked them to provide more feedback so I may improve my service in the future.
As an offer of good faith I offered 50% refund if they would up my feedback seeing I have tried to improve my service.
How difficult is it for buyers to change the feedback left?Dec - 21 Books
Jan - 100 Books
Feb - 89 Books
March - 38 and counting0 -
Well I just had a 5/5 saying that she'd have preferred faster delivery
She ordered at 10.45 on Wednesday night, I posted it Thursday 2nd class and it got to Northern Ireland this morning! Pretty d*mn good for Royal Mail I would have thought
Still it was 5/5 and dragged me back up to 4.9 at last after some 4/5 when I first started (for no apparent reason - just they didn't like giving 5/5!!! must be teachers ...)0 -

I did after the second one I found. I asked whether it was just mine she was copying or did she do it to other people too ....
It's weird cos I checked her listings and she has got a lot of the more difficult to find books that I have too ...0 -
