Glad it's not just me FFM. I haven't sold a thing for 6 days now. When I first started, I used to get at least 2-3 sales per week with less than 50 items listed. Now I have a couple of hundred listed, and nothing
Never thought I'd say it, but thank goodness for the day job!0 -
I had a really good Easter weekend but in the last week or so sales have been less than inspiring, the odd sale here or there. Yet today when I got home from work, bingo! 4 books sold. This won't be my worst week but it's pretty damn close. I suppose that the hot weather is to blame. Well, you've got to blame something haven't you?My sales on Play are now greater than on Amazon, I did my bulk upload of about 1500 listings on Play on Sunday and sold 2 books Monday (1 pending cancelled out), 3 books Tuesday and 1 books so far today.
I assume that this refers to Play.Com? I wasn't aware that any other site apart from e-Bay and Greenmet had this sort of facility. Sounds like a good way of expanding one's market. Are there any drawbacks with Play?0 -

Hi Soulcadet
Here's the link to the Play thread, started by Rupert http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=413654
I think most of the drawbacks are mentioned in the thread, at the moment it's very positive for me, bad feedback for 2nd hand books hasn't happened yet.
The fees on Play are lower than Amazon, Play = 50p per sale, 10% fees + 5% to cash your money in - where as Amazon = 86p per sale + 17.25% fees (if non pro). Amazon costs £28.75 per month to be pro, Play costs £19.99.

cooltrikerchick,
i would have assumed as you posted to the address provided, that was your bit done ?? if they gave the wrong address how can they think you should be out of pocket for it ???
rare-stuff, can you show us how this is the not the case ? you make it appear as if you think CTC is going to have a problem .. . .

Don't really want to be the doom & gloom merchant, but have had this happen myself on a number of occassions, some sorted ok, where the customer had access to the previous address and was ok about it being sent there and either arranged direct for it to be delivered/collected and the other occassion when they had no access to the old address.
In the case that they cannot intercept the delivery and had no redirect facility set up, items will usually be returned to sender, this can take at least 3 weeks if the item isn't collected or if you're lucky the wrong recipient will RTS it and you'll receive it back. When you do receive it back you will then be expected by the buyer to resend to the correct address, though it's possible they won't accept that they have to pay more for this privilege and may even mark you down on feedback due to delivery. Also, they maybe quite impatient to have there order arrive and pester constantly until it does, even though the delay in it being returned to you isn't your fault.
Hopefully the <s>muppet</s> Buyer in question will be the nice sort and accept the delay, but very few will be tempted to pay more for it being delivered to the correct address after being returned to yourself.
I don't like being the doom & gloom merchant, but I was asked!Do You Twitter?

Its not doom and gloom unfortunately, these days its a sad fact that consumer power has gone to some peoples head and 'they know their rights' (like pinkgems buyer who threatened court action over less than £5 postage)
i just thought there might be some daft amazon rule that stated you must be psychic to sell on their site !!!
thanks
