I've sold quite a few over the past 12 months. I don't mind selling them for next to nothing really as they are all 1960s paperbacks that probably wouldn't last for my own children to grow up and read! They are still quite saleable and there is obviously a market for them although they don't tend to be worth a great deal.
I got them all second-hand from a local book stall as a child and have enjoyed them many times over. They are really light as well so I'm quite happy to list some at 50p+. I have had one sell for about £15 which I was very pleased with though!
Have sold another item this evening - can't remember the last time I sold two items in one day.I'm only selling off my own old books so haven't listed any new books for several months and sales have, obviously, dried up.
I have just managed to sell a book to somebody about 3 miles away whose road I pass by on my way to work! What's even better is that is a hardback so would have been quite expensive to post and was priced accordingly. (Mind you - I would have only just about covered the P&P and made pence so it's excellent luck that it's gone to a local buyer!) :j0 -
just found a signed 1968 george best autobiography any clues as to how to price it and sell it paperback book and although i dont have a coa it is from a reliable source and believe it to be genuine book is in fair to good conditon

Though would be interested toknow about these books from a job in the publishing trade, I hope they're not advance proofs, as amazon have rules bout that sort of thing!
No. I'm aware of the ban on selling proof copies and I also know that proofs always state that they're not for resale. I wouldn't jeopardise my chances of selling stuff on Amazon by ignoring the restrictions.
By the way, does anybody understand the instructions for listing in z shops? I may be dense but it seems like double dutch to me.
I've been following the conversations in this forum for about a week now and have found it very helpful for both its advice and its common sense approach to issues that arise from selling on Amazon. I looked at the Amazon sellers forum and found it to be very cliquey and "up itself" very clever clever and self congratulatory with only a modicum of advice. This forum is a welcome breath of fresh air. So thanks everyone! :T0 -

 Until they were recently republished I had never sold one for under £18!! And some often sell for more still, if they haven't been republished yet, as they are only republishing the series slowly, and even now it's possible to sell the old copies of ones that have been republished for up to £10. And yes I am referring to the paperback editions. Old hardbacks in this series can go for a lot more if in good condition and with dust jacket!Do You Twitter?

Actually a lot depends on how and where you ask, as a lot of the good advice is hidden in off topic threads discussing anything from horse riding to hairloss! Usually if your question isn't answered it's because it's either:- asked badly; it sounds like a whine; noone knows; or it's been asked 15times already that week.Do You Twitter?

Sounds an ideal candidate for ebay, as it will only cost 10p to list and you can set a good starting price on media now for only 10p I'd list it at £20 and see what happens!Do You Twitter?

Hi all
I have only just started selling my old books, cd's and tapes on amazon and have had 1 sale each day so far. Isn't it addictive!!
My question is - someone has bought a book off me, but I do have a sister book that accompanied the bought book, but I couldn't list it because it wasn't sold on amazon. Am I allowed to contact the buyer and see if they want to do a deal on both books. If I can do this and they are interested, how can they pay me? Does amazon frown on this sort of thing?
Thanks as ever0 -

I think that Rare and FFM (where has Amazombie got to? I haven't seen him around these parts for months) will know Amazons point of view but mine is that I'd do it.
Tell your buyer about the other book and if they want it either ask if they use paypal or 'sell' them another of your books ie, get them to make a purchase of something else that you are selling, at the price you're happy with after fees - and then relist it later.0 -

LOL! It's true!! Thanks for your advice. Unless anyone posts saying 'don't do it - this is what will happen', I'll go for it. What with ebay and amazon now, when will I get away from the computer!
