Does anyone else find that they are often unable to edit their listings a lot of the time - I keep getting a message saying the action you attempted cannot be completed at this time
Then other times it will go through ok.

that's quite common Cat, amazon's site does often appear to be flakier than a well known brand of chocolate!Do You Twitter?

I've just made my first sale on Amazon MarketPlace, and I have a postage question?
Do I have to send 1st class? Is that 1st class recorded? OR should I post 2nd Class or 2nd Class Recorded?
Thanks for any help!!!!
When I started, keen to start generating positive feedback, I sent everything 1st class, bubblewrapped, cardboard-sleeved and jiffy-bagged! ... and barely anyone left any feedback! Now evrything goes 2nd class, and I get feedback thanking me for 'fast delivery'!0 -
Well after about two months of no sale, I checked this topic yesterday...and hey presto! A sale! woowoo, £7 better than nothing I suppose ;d0

i bought 4 books via amazon marketplace sellers 10 days ago on 3rd april, 3 of which were received over a week ago, last thursday before easter weekend but 1 has not yet turned up.
i emailed the seller on tuesday morning 10th april, i received a reply late evening 11th april
"Good evening,
Thank you for your email. I will look into this for you tomorrow
morning. Sorry about the late hour of reply but am ploughing through the
emails from the Bank Holiday!"
it is now over 24 hours since she was supposed to look in to this but no reply and still no book
how long should i wait before i notify amazon?
they have 98% and over 1000 feedback, with this recent negative "i haven't recieved anything yet.... ordered over 2 weeks ago."
Date: 2007/4/10
I would give her until the end of next week and then make an A-Z claim via Amazon on Tuesday if the book still hasn't arrived. (That way you have allowed the seller a week to address your claim.)
I don't see what they are 'looking in to' - they will essentially have to make a claim from RM if the book doesn't arrive and refund you.
Whenever I've had an email saying that the item hasn't arrived, I ask the buyer to wait until xx specific date and email me again if it still hasn't arrived. I then do a full and immediate refund without asking any further questions. Most times the book arrives by the deadline that I give the buyer.
I haven't had to make an A_Z claim as a buyer myself.0 -
Hi
I've been selling on Amazon since the end of January. To date I've sold around 250 books. I've tried to be as professional as I can and have 100% rating from 70 feedbacks. I had a bumper Easter with around 25 books sold from Good Friday to Easter Monday. I average around 6-10 sales a week. I'm able to do this because I have amassed about 500 books from my job which is connected to the publishing industry. I'v become a pro seller because I realised that I could make a bit more money given my sales rate even though I have to pay a subscription. Sooner or later I'll run out of saleable books and will have to start looking for alternatives. I have this recurring daydream in which I sell enough books every month to enable me to give up my day job and sell on Amazon full time but I guess it'll remain a daydream.
I have a question: I've got some books that were published in March but whenever I try to list them I get a message which states that I can't sell them yet.Is there a period after publication of a book during which Amazon won't let anybody else sell it?0 -

Yes - Amazon will sometimes only open listings to Marketplace sellers after the book has been published for a certain length of time. They don't do this for every book but certainly for some.
Presumably so they can monopolise sales for a short period
I've just had a mini-panic because I've had a SDN for a book originally listed months ago. It was an old Chalet School paperbook from my childhood. I've been hunting high and low for it - finally found it at the bottom of my pc desk where it must have been since I listed it!0 -

Sometimes there's an agreement with the publisher, and if amazon didn't like it the publisher wouldn't supply amazon! Though more often than not it's just an amazon screw up!
Though would be interested toknow about these books from a job in the publishing trade, I hope they're not advance proofs, as amazon have rules bout that sort of thing!I've just had a mini-panic because I've had a SDN for a book originally listed months ago. Well done! These used to sell for good prices but they're being republished now so the prices of the aramada paperbacks are tumbling!Do You Twitter?
