Had the last walk for today, done a pee (Zara not me) drunk some water and back in the cage for the night...

Hate to see her in that plastic collar but she pulled her stitches out when she was spayed at 6 months so not taking any risks...

Seen all 6 episodes of The Bionic Vet - this guy is truly amazing....

Nite nite all - locing myself away from the psycho cats today.. NOt going to let them use me as a bouncy castle.trampoline for 2 nighs running, need my rest too ;)

Went to bed at some semi decent time , setting alarm clock for 6am but then put it on snooze several times till 6:45... me badddddredface.gif

Took Zara for a drink to the kitchen, done a tour of the flat allowing her to check that all cats are where they supposed to be (she is such a good mum to them), took her out, she had a pee. Lousy weather raining, such a pity as could stay out with her in the communal garden for a bit, change of scenery from the living room cage view...

Came back, had a good in cage cuddle with her. Gave her some food - her usual skinners mixed with half a tin of tuna and half of the oil from the tin, leaving the second half for later.

NOticed something on her that I did not see before, the way she was lying down I noticed 2 very red patches on her skin. NOt very good at explaining but theye were where her bum cheeks meet so I can only assume that now beig shaved,.... her pee stays on the skin and this was the irritation. Put sudocream on it as those were touching one aother and rubbing. Will see later on today what it looks like but looked terrible yesterday
  • Ouch! That sounds sore GR poor lamb - hope the sudacream helps.

If you think it might be wee, it may be worth giving her a quick wipe with first a wet cloth and then a dry one when she comes back in.

Tyson has seriously sore ears and I used sudocrem on them and it really worked. Hopefully it will work on bum cheeks too, it works well on babies :)

Her wee may be a bit stronger at the moment too due to medication, not drinking as much for a while etc so may irritate her a bit.

I used sudocream for other things on both dog and cat before but this looked really bad yesterday...

WE have just been out again, she done a pee, had a drink....

Just wondering if I can cut her "out" times from 4 to 3 per day, because of those stairs....

    Will see how it goes.

Can not change the dog walker, he comes at 11 and can not do any other times which is a bit of a pity but......will see
  • How often does she usually go out GR?

I know DMs dog sometimes goes out 1st thing and doesn't go out again until dinner time (especially if it's raining - when she literally has to throw her outside and say "go and get a wee"!) - she's at home all day so the dog can go out / in whenever she likes.

So glad she got through the op and you have her home again.
Its good you are coping with the stairs.
The rash could be a clipper rash as they have to clip so close to the skin, it could also be urine burning. Sudocream is good, drying her after she has peed might help too. If it gets worse you might need something like fuciderm but you will have to get it from the vet.
As for drinking when shes in the cage,is there room for a small bucket? They can usally drink from a bucket when wearing a buster collar.

Thanks... sudocream has helped, the rash is almost gone, put some on her just in case and will be watching it.

I am at home till we go back to FR on the 11th - her stitches will be taken out then and collars will be offf so will be ok to leave her foo/water in the cage.

Tday I took her collars off as I am in the room with her all the time so she has her water/food in the cage.

WE went out 3 times today, she done a pee every time and poo at around 6pm so all good...

I get in the cage with her (5 foot nothing myself so easily done) for a good cuddle too....

Glad I could take that week to stay at home with her.

Dog walker back in tomorrow so will show him how to take her out when I go back to work on the 12th...

    Thanks a lot everyone :)
