    I've been Money Tipped!
Today my mother gave me a belt....because my jeans kept falling down while we were out, and a painting she did a few years ago that she knows i like. I gave her a lipstick that i bought but changed my mind about but that she likes a lot.

Together my ( separating) parents gave dh and i a persian carpet and a coffee table and some woodworm treatment fir the coffee table!

I bought to give my sibling in law and partner a beautiful little hat and booties for the baby they are expecting, but do not get to give that to them till next week.

    .

Oh and an empty St Germaine bottle from the pub where I had my lunch - it's a lovely shape.

I was tempted to buy a bottle of this a couple of years ago when Waitrose started selling it; it is indeed gorgeous - the bottle, that is! Didn't feel I could justify paying for the drink though, nice as I'm sure it tastes :)

My Mum gave me a huge electric frying pan this morning. Looks like new. It's too big for just herself. I got an electric frying pan as a wedding present 25 years ago but had to throw it out a couple of years ago as the non-stick was wearing done.

We don't do much fries in our house but I used our old one for making macaroni and cheese and stewed chops and sausages. I think you could have a whole family's breakfast in it at once!

OH is coming home today and I can guarantee he'll be saying, 'more stuff, where are we going to keep it!' Dad gave us his Mr T halogen oven as he didn't have room for it and we use it almost every day. Just waiting on Mum giving us the bread maker next! Dad did love his gadgets, but he'd buy them, then not use them after the first few times. :A

When I first moved here me and dd had nothing only a bag of clothes but the lady over the road gave me plates, glasses, 3 lamps one which is perfect for my living room and the other two in dd's room as they are pink, loads of duvet sets and sheets, a washing basket and tea towels and things.

A year last Christmas after first moving here too my housing association gave me a load of Christmas presents for dd as I didn't have any money, a tin of chocolates and they had all donated clothes for dd too as well as all the Christmas decorations I could want after all me and dd had been through we had the best Christmas ever and we visited the office to thank everyone for collecting money and clothes for us they were amazing. I cried when the two men delivered it all (I think they were a bit embarrassed) :rotfl: sometimes when times are hard the generosity of others shock me there are some amazing people in this world.

Things I have given I gave the bedding to a local dog charity once I bought some to match my room dd's clothes she out grew were all given to a friend for her dd. I finally managed to get all my things back and I donated the Christmas tree to the local children's home so I guess I did pay back the kindness of others which I think is very important too.

  • Most recently I was given a pot of chocolate spread as a friend bought it for her son but he didn't like it. Over the years I've been given gorgeous red thick velvet curtains (not up at the moment, decorating) a large floor cushion and 3 covers, a bean bag, a sewing machine, coffee table.

I've also given away children's clothes, toys, swapped bikes with friends who have older and younger children to me as they outgrew them, unwanted bed linen (decluttered the airing cupboard) most weeks I freecycle something but will ask around my friends and neighbours first.

    It's a lovely feeling!

Yesterday I was given a lovely tin of biscuits by a friend for helping her son with GCSE revision.

My children keep asking when we can open them!:D

I had a St Gemaine elderflower and white wine spritzer and it was really nice.

If you see it in the pub ask if they have any empty bottles like I did. I was lucky they finished the bottle on my drink!

Just quoted the wrong quote earlier and saw they would think you are mad Dogstar - fortunately I couldn't care less what people think most of the time!:rotfl:
Here dead we lie because we did not choose
To live and shame the land from which we sprung.
Life, to be sure, is nothing much to lose,
But young men think it is,
    And we were young.

Ooh I forgot I got a lovely old sewing machine in a table the other week from a friend who does house removals. Some stuff I sell on eBay and we split the profit or it goes on Freecycle or I nab it!

Oh I really should add this is when he is given the stuff to dispose of as he sees fit!
