I have had a respite from MSE and have just come back for inspiration and get rid of my CC and OD debt its not very much in comparison to most people but I only work part time and earn just enough to live on (my choice) so I have to be very careful if I want to pay any extra off. Anyway I will be following your journey, keep positive and Im glad you feel better after your working away:)

Hello NannyG, thanks for joining me :hello:
I have a fantastic relationship with my 2 DC and would do absolutely anything for them and they know it. They have both grown into fantastic adults and would do absolutely anything for each other. Despite my DD being 1,000s of miles away, my DGD1 worships the ground her Auntie walks on and took to her as soon as she met her and often talks about her, despite only seeing her 2 in her 5.5 years and not at all for nearly 3 years. I am sure the little one will be the same too. That's why I find my mum's attitude so strange.
While I was away on Tuesday night she rang my house and demanded that my OH rang me on my mobile to get me to ring her back. A bit naughty of him but he asked her if it was urgent and when she said she needed to discuss something with me he decided to refuse to ring me, knowing that I really needed a break. See he's not all bad, just a bit of an Ostrich at times. However, at times like this he rallies round. He knew if it was urgent she could ring me on my mobile.
Tonight I rang her and guess what, she wanted to talk to me about my dad's attitude about the car. She didn't seemed at all pleased when I said I wasn't prepared to discuss it with her. She also wasn't too pleased when I admitted to having told him that I had no interest in going away in the summer with the 2 of them. LOL, she was doubly surprised when I dared to suggest they bicker :rotfl:
Who's the ostrich now :rotfl:
Good luck with your fight to be debt free, I'm here anytime you need to talk
Anyway, hope you enjoy your journey with me, I sure could do with any support out there and will provide copious amounts of wine, chocolate, trashy novels or whatever else floats my fellow MSE DFDs friends' boat

I don't mind you finding it nice because I know how alone situations like this can make you feel, so its always nice to know others understand.
My OH and DS have a good relationship now but it was difficult whilst he was living at home. My OH never wanted children and despite taking them on when he met me, he is such a selfish person at times, he made life hard for them.
He is very lucky my DS and DDIL2B have allowed him to build a relationship with my DGDs as he worships them both. He was made to be a GD I think.
My DD and OHs relationship is strange. She tolerates him but he usually manages to wind her up when she's spent too long in his company. He is a very difficult man, some say I've married my dad - :rotfl:
Haven't checked the totals yet, after all. Just been far to busy with work. Finished for 10 days now but off for city break on Sunday so probably won't do it until end of next week.

All in all, with a couple of wobbles aside, this has been a successful month and it is all down to my new found support on this site. Thank you to you all for aiding me in my fight to return to solvency. I've been able to tell you things that I would have bottled up without you. This site should be given out on prescription in my eyes.
Good, I'm pleased you're feeling the benefits of your diary already. I think in real life it's very difficult to admit to and talk about debt so it's really therapeutic to have this place where we can be completely open and honest, knowing real people are genuinely interested, supportive and full of helpful ideas.
Enjoy your city break xLBM Dec 2011. Aimed, but failed, to clear all unsecured debt by Feb 2019. Finally free of unsecured debt 21st May 21!

Well I'm all packed and ready to go. Just have to rally OH now as he is sitting on the sofa watching the History Channel
Doing a diary update before we leave as I've decided to give myself a proper break and leave my laptop at home :hello:
Thank you so much all for the good wishes, I plan to make the most out of this break and to see just how frugal I can be, without actually spoiling it. :money:
I can't do a Noddle update before I go as I've just realised the figures don't update until around the 7th, so I'll do it when I come back.
I am so proud of my progress this month though as I've had 11 NSD between 13th and 31st May and a couple of LSDs, plus no excessive days. No mean feat for 18 days in the life of a former shopaholic. :T:j:T
I've only had 2 setbacks, one of which was averted and ended up in me feeling cross for what turned out in the end to be less than £1 spent, (if the cashback goes through and its already been tracked) :A
I've given OH more information about our situation and have stuck by my guns when going out for coffee etc. I even made him pay for my toiletries yesterday as if we weren't going away I wouldn't need them :rotfl: So end up having a NSD instead of a LSD. :T
Oops, how easy Grannys forget - I spent £26 on posting my DD present to Australia. It is her 30th and I always send her a shoe box full of bits with something nice nestled in amongst it. Gift valued at £200, paid less than £100 and I know she'll love it all. Short of doing this I had to pay to post it
Oo now there's an idea, I could do that instead of saving the money to fly to see her next year.
I've managed to save £150 towards my DS wedding later this year
I've decreased my debts for the first month since what seems like forever by being :money:
I've realised I'm going to be DF before 2023, which considering I initially thought it was going to be 2029 is amazing.
I've finally got Halif*x to reduce the interest they are charging substantially and it will be stopped completely once they pass me to their litigation department. :T
Everyone else, except MBN^ DC are now sorted and on no interest, low payments for 12 months. I'm not paying MBN^ at the moment because they sold the debt on and the company involved still hasn't come back to me with their SO details.
I've taken packed lunch into work every day, saving at least £25 this month if not more :money:
I plan to have at least 15 NSD this month, although I currently haven't managed any.
Finally, I've made some lovely friends on here and look forward to logging in everyday to catch up with their lives.
BFN Gx2 x See you next Thurs/Friday
