Plumber turned up on time which was a nice surprise and I was dressed and tidy so as not to give the poor thing a fright. He is someone I know quite well and did a very good job. The cost was £110 for boiler service and repair and cooker and hob fit, so more done than quoted by C*rrys and at less cost.
Told OH he has to help out with money this month, but have not specified an amount. Did drop a hint about his credit card, that I pay £200pm to as he pays the household bills, so fingers crossed he'll give me that.
DS and OH moved sofa bed up into my office at last - only just fits with no room to swing a Colin but at least its there for anyone that needs it. Upstairs looks like a bomb has hit and I'm going to have to summon up the energy to get it sorted before the weekend.
Little bit more work to do this evening and then I'm going to relax, been a strange day today with very little work done tbh.
Probably be back later. xTargets

A busy day then for you. You've started the ball rolling by mentioning the money to OH, hopefully, it will be easier now to actually get him to part up with it.
I don't think colin would like being swung, but would probably enjoy the sofabed.
Hope you're enjoying a relaxing evening.Total debt at October 2008: £67,213.30

The best thing about asking him for the money yesterday is that his credit card bill arrived in the post this morning, informing him that the payment of £200 has to be paid by 29th and payment should be made 5 days before to ensure its received in time. What he doesn't know is I've arranged with them to pay it on the last day of the month so 31st and as I do it by faster bank payment, it clears straight away. So he will give me the money on 24th, in time to get DD and any last minute needs and then I'll pay it when I get paid on the 31st.
It's so much easier doing it this way than asking him outright to help towards the costs of the wedding. I have only asked him once before to pay it, when I had a large repair bill for my car so don't feel at all guilty. This should now mean I can avoid using my overdraft but still have the security of it to rely on if needed. Of course he hasn't given it to me yet but I won't let him not now I've said it.
Had another NSD yesterday and hoping for one today too, not going out so its only avoiding online shopping which I have no plans to do at the present time. Going to buy the DGDs a small present each as bridesmaids, seen My little pony pack which should keep them both happy. £15 for both but won't be getting them until weekend at earliest.
BFN probably be back later, although I didn't come back as promised yesterday.

Well not a nsd after all as found hair cut deal on daily deal website, which using OH deal points cost a grand total of £7. Could have opted for half head £25 or full head £35 of highlights but decided I like the colour using the hair dye I bought last month. Going to get OH to buy me another box if its still £2 on Saturday.
Really tired tonight, just finished work, didn't get anywhere near as much completed as I wanted but done enough for the day. :shhh:
OH tried out new oven to cook chicken and seems quite pleased with it after I showed him how to use it. Has spent the last 30 minutes reading the instruction booklet. There are loads of features on it, which is great but all we really want to do with it is cook. I don't expect it to get up and sing and dance as well :rotfl:
Found break for DS and DDIL2B at naturist spa. Only clothing allowed is bather for her. Funny, told her and she told DS and he said we should go - :rotfl:Targets

It's my dear diary's 5 month anniversary today and for once I feel I don't really have anything constructive to say.
I'm pleased with my progress so far and have had a lot of realisations over this 5 month period. I seem to have changed old habits and become quite reluctant to spend money if I can help it although I have momentary lapses where I'm tempted to overspend. Luckily, (I suppose), I don't have the cash or credit to follow these through so they are thoughts rather than actions.
I'm finding this month difficult and worry that my posts come across as self absorbed, ( age old self doubt poking out its ugly head).
I know that I don't have to worry about food and other household bills like others as OH covers that and therefore my only money worry is can I pay for everything I have to this month. However, I know that if I don't keep to my self-managed DMP agreements the Predators will start legal action and as I've said before formal insolvency is not an option as that risks my job along with my marriage.
Its difficult keeping up appearances and difficult coping with OH being able to buy what he wants, when he wants it. He doesn't spend money on clothes etc often but if he wants something he can have it no worries. He never has to worry if his DD are going to bounce, he can work o/t as often as he likes, (in fact he's in work today after doing a double shift yesterday) I know he pays for treats but only if he wants them too. It never crosses his mind to give me a bit extra and has made me feel really guilty about asking him for money this month. This is despite the fact that he promised in the past to buy me a dress, hair and nails for the wedding, none of which he's done.
I want to look my best for the wedding and will I'm sure but I'm finding this run up stressful. Not helped by the fact DS and mostly DDIL2B are also stressed and I wish I could ease their pressure a bit. Also feel guilty about not going to see DM to help her with her wedding outfit. I so wish she lived closer. Never mind I'm going to see her in 2 weeks when I go to collect DD.
Looking forward to the wedding and DD coming home.
Had a NSD yesterday so over half way to my target for the month. Today going shopping with DDIL2B and although I probably won't spend much, (as I don't have it to spend) I will probably not manage a NSD.
Got the christening tomorrow but OH is footing the bill for drinks as its his family and me, DS, DDIL2B and DGDs are going for him. Hoping he realises he needs to buy drinks for them too as they are broke with every penny going on the wedding. Think I'm going to have to spell that out to him though as he doesn't do hints unless hit with a sledge hammer at the same time.
So must stir my stumps now and get dressed properly to go out. Hope you all have a good day/weekend

You've done really well in five months. You've got a lot of the disciplines in place that will see you through, especially the NSDs. It hasn't been easy but you will get there and probably sooner than you think!Total debt at October 2008: £67,213.30

Granny
As Piq has said you have done wonderfully well for the past 5 months.
I hope you have a lovely time at the christening tomorrow ( I have a large sledgehammer if you would like to borrow it, admit it has a few dents from hitting someone across the head a few times but always ready to help
I am sure DD will have a wonderful time on her wedding day and that she will always remember the memory of having her fantanstic family around her rather than what everyone wore, ate etc.
We all have good and bad weeks on this site , i am sure that is why we all make such good friends through our diaries. you are a really great lady who make so many of us smile and we all understand that sometimes it is difficult. Allow yourself these days and remember we are always here with a glass of wine, chocolates and huge hugs even if only computer ones.
Take care

Darling dearest Granny - please stop beating yourself up - you are truly a lovely person, you OH does need hitting with a sledge hammer IMHO not to treat yoou better, your darling family are very lucky to have you, your DG's could not want for a better Granny. It's not too long now till the wedding, and I would be very surprised if there was no stress at all, it's all part of the territory I'm afraid. You will all come out of the wedding day smiling and happy knowing that you did all you could to help everyone and without causing you the worry of further money issues. I just hope you know how much you are loved, by your family, friends and virtual MSE compadres - I wish I could hug you in person and make you feel better - I just hope my words reach you for now, please accept this dodgey hug :grouphug: and know that you really are one in a million.
