Long time lurker here, but so sorry to hear of your struggles. I think the programme Missrlr refers to is "Eat, Fast and Live Longer". It was a BBC Horizon programme a few months ago. The final recommendation was eating normally on 5 days a week, and, for a woman, eating just 500 calories on 2 days each week. The days don't have to be consecutive. It is not aimed at losing weight, but does seem to result in it.
There is an MSE thread on it somewhere (sorry don't know how to find it now). But if you google Horizon or 5/2 eating then hopefully you will find something.
But, I hope you can get your dr to get things moving again - you so deserve much better treatment.0 -
The hospital, however, did not seem to care about that, in fact they didn't even ask. The only questions he asked was how many children do you have, which wasn't even the right question, as it should have been how many pregnancies. I have 2 live children should have 7 if all had gone through to produce babies. I also had to talk about my twins, which always makes me sad afterwards, especially as his reaction was fairly cold. The nurse was lovely and glowered at him as though he had 2 heads.
Hi grannyx, that is a huge amount of grief to have endured, my heart goes out to you.
I appreciate the way you acknowledge your hurt and pain and don't just bury it under the carpet, ultimately I think this is the healthy way to approach things.
After the wedding you'll have more time to work out a solution to the weight dilemma, it must be incredibly frustrating to do everything right and see the scales stay the same . xxWeight 12 st 2lb - Now 11 stone 1 lb (-15 lb)

Thank you Missrlr and RosiePuddingPaws, (what a fab name and welcome). I have booked an appointment for Monday so fingers crossed it resolves something. I will google that program as it sounds like it may work for me. Part of my problem, I'm sure is that my body gets used to the adjusted calories and so maybe tricking it with variable days might just work. Its certainly not something I've tried before and believe you me I thought I'd tried them all.
OH won't be impressed when he has to buy a new carpet with all my running up and down the stairs but it definitely sounds like a good plan to me and I may just get on RB's reps to Xmas target too.
I'm extremely tired tonight so am logging on quickly just to say goodnight really. Speak tomorrow. xTargets

have the best day at work that you can xx
Appointment didn't turn up which was annoying as it meant I didn't need to be there. HE was annoying and throwing his weight around a bit. I did manage to get another referral off my desk but no doubt HE'll find fault with it and I'll have to do further work on it. HE's not in until Monday and I won't see HIM until Thurs, maybe Friday.Morning hope you have a good day, don't forget imagine HIS face on the treads of stairs and STOMP. 3 repeats of stair climb in work with HIS face pictured on each tread. Will repeat today until I can manage all 3 flights without feeling like I'm dying.
Glad you liked the picture RB
I found the 5:2 diet article and am going to give it ago next week so thanks for the heads up. Probably going to pick Tues & Thurs as my low days.
NSD #10 yesterday Won't have 1 today as going to get something for tea for me and DDIL2B as I'm calling to see her after work.
DF and DM stressed me out with their astonishing selfishness yesterday. Trying very hard not to lose my rag with them before the wedding.
Only a week until my beautiful DD comes home, gosh I can't wait.
Off to work now, be back with more tonight I'm sure
