Aw Granny I wish I could wave a magic wand for you. You deserve a little sparkle after everything you do for everyone else. Do you and Grandad buy each other Xmas gifts? Perhaps you could ask for yours early & get your nails etc done? I do agree with the others though and you should just ask him to help. Xx

Thanks all, haven't bit the bullet yet but going to tomorrow. Had lovely day with DGDs today and then went to see DDIL2B for coffee when I took them home. By the time I got home OH was tired and slouched on the sofa and didn't seem to be in the mood for chats. Going to spend the day blitzing the house tomorrow and make nice tea and talk to him when he gets home from work. Hopefully he'll have a good day in work.
We do buy each other xmas presents, though this year is going to be something small on my part as I want to pay in advance for everything I buy. I could try that method but don't think it'll work with xmas being 2 months later.
So I'm just going to come straight out and ask him for some money towards what I've given them. Anything he gives will be a help so going to leave it up to him to decide how much but hoping for at least £100 as that'll take the pressure off me.
Had a nsd today so 4 already this month

Hi Granny that sounds like a good plan.
I thought the way you put it in your diary sounded very reasonable, especially the fact that he has been involved with DS since he was six, and has got overtime money due to him.
I'm sure you will find a way of pulling his heart strings to open his purse strings xx.Weight 12 st 2lb - Now 11 stone 1 lb (-15 lb)

nsd #5, no chat yet as it was already grumpy when it came home from work. Had a row about asking him to help me move some furniture around so we have room for everyone around the wedding. So didn't feel like asking him. Will try to do it tomorrow though.

Thank you both, it's nice to know that others understand the situation. Didn't chat tonight either, I'm afraid I chickened out as I didn't get home from work until 8pm and was feeling rather tired.
The cooker is being fitted tomorrow and the boiler serviced so I decided to wait until we know the financial implication of that and then I can judge how much I want off him and how much I think he can afford. DS has also asked to borrow £40 from him so he can buy DDIL2B a gift for their wedding day and I didn't want to jeopardise his chances, although if OH gives me the money I can give it instead of lend it to DS. :A
Work was okish today, HE wasn't in so only had to deal with HIM over the phone and that involved one very quick phone call. During which HE called me a sarcastic s0d, in a jokey manner but probably picked up on the fact that I was actually behaving exactly that way. It was quite amusing really. I got the impression HE was trying to gain my approval and tbh if HE wants it HE's going to have to work very hard to get it :rotfl:
Off to bed now as plumber calling early and he isn't tasty enough for me to want to still be in my glamorous nightwear when he calls
