Hello my lovely, no it's at the end of the month - Halloween to be exact. DDIL2B is feeling pretty scared and wound up now, I'm so proud of her (and told her so) as she has done all the planning herself, with a little help from DS, but the ideas and organising has all been done by her.

Her DP have finally come around and offered to help financially, which means she can now order a wedding car, cake and photographer. She was doing without the car and photos and planning to make her own cake. I'm so glad they have taken that pressure off her and cannot believe its taken them so long. It has been my dream all year to somehow come up with enough money to arrange these things for her, so I am so glad they are now sorted :D

DD arrives home in just over 3 weeks, I can't wait, she's going to have to put up with her soppy old DM hugging the life out of her X

HE thinks HE is so witty it's quite worrying, thinking of suggesting HE is sectioned. :D OH was really cross when I told him what HE said, think he wishes he could go and pay HIM a visit

Keeping an eye out on both sites for deals, hoping something comes up. Its just a pity the saloon I went to earlier in the year is so unreliable as I loved my hair when they did it and they do nails too. Would probably still get reduced rate too but can't run the risk they let me down.

Feeling a bit better but tummy still not 100%. OH said his is also feeling a bit off so we now think it was something we ate at the hotel. I managed to eat some tea though which is good. Went upstairs to check for rubbish at 4.30 and sat on bed. Next thing I knew it was 7.30pm. OH came up at 6pm to see if I wanted food and said I was sleeping like a baby, all curled in a ball. When I woke up, I had to force myself to get up, probably could have stayed there. Watched 1st part of hotel GB - not sure how I feel about it, love the concept but wonder why these so called celebrities feel the need to be smutty - Granny doesn't do smut for smuts sake :rotfl:

Off to bed now, don't think I'll go in tomorrow either, HIM and bad tummy really don't mix.

    Night all

A little bit of silliness before I pop off back to bed

There was once a snail who was sick and tired of his reputation for being so slow.

He decided to get some fast wheels to make up the difference. After shopping around a while, he decided that the Datson 240-Z was the car to get.

So the snail goes to the nearest Datsun dealer and says he wants to buy the 240-Z, but he wants it repainted "240-S".

    The dealer asks, "Why 'S'?"

The snail replies, "'S' stands for snail.

I want everybody who sees me roaring past to know who's driving."

Well, the dealer doesn't want to lose the unique opportunity to sell a car to a snail, so he agrees to have the car repainted for a small fee.

The snail gets his new car and spent the rest of his days roaring happily down the highway at top speed.

And whenever anyone would see him zooming by, they'd say:

S-car go ..... Sitting here giggling ( or should that be sniggering?) like a school girl at my desk , been in for too long already today so hoping the world can get lost on Friday and I get a day of peace.

Like the fact OH was all protective of you. Not sure how to get the message across if the hide is like rhinoceros and he doesn't get the rolling eyes message.

    Hope tummy settles down soon

Still not 100% but going to work from home tomorrow. DF came over for coffee this morning, I asked him to get pasties as I couldn't be bothered to make soup. They were nice too, warmed up in the oven. I gave him the money back as I asked him to get them.

Picked up DGD2 at 2pm and then DGD1 at 3.20pm and went to look for earrings for wedding. Ones I ordered online are carp, so they are going back. Luckily the bag was sealed so they can be returned. Got pretty crystal hearts from M+S.

Fancy dress costume and jacket are going back too as no good. DDIL2B has changed her mind about fancy dress anyway as she doesn't want evening guests dressing silly. So saved some money there, like my dress so much anyway was tempted to just buy nice witches hat and broom.

Picked DDIL2B up at 5pm and went for wander around the shops. Bought tea for DGDs and scone and coffee for us. So not a NSD but knew that would be the case.

Bag I bought the other day is lovely, all glittery but classy.

Went to price shellac nails for us both, £23 each or 4 for the price of 3 so will have to see if DD and DM want theirs done too as be worth us all doing so together. I'm pampering mine each night in an attempt to get them grown and healthy by end of the month.

Not much else to report, off to bed now. May be back with a funny x

    Purchasing a new bird

After many years of marriage, a husband has turned into a couch potato, became completely inattentive to his wife and sat guzzling beer and watching TV all day. The wife was dismayed because no matter what she did to attract the husband's attention, he'd just shrug her off with some bored comment.

This went on for many months and the wife was going crazy with boredom. Then one day at a pet store, the wife saw this big, ugly, snorting bird with a hairy chest, powerful hairy forearms, beady eyes and dribble running down the side of its mouth.

The shopkeeper, observing her fascination with the bird, told her it was a special imported "Goony bird" and it had a very peculiar trait. To demonstrate, he exclaimed, "Goony bird! The table!"

Immediately, the Goony bird flew off its perch and with single-minded fury attacked the table and smashed it into a hundred little pieces with its powerful forearms and claws! To demonstrate some more, the shopkeeper said, "Goony bird! The shelf!"

Again the Goony bird turned to the shelf and demolished it in seconds.

"Wow!" said the wife, "If this doesn't attract my husband's attention, nothing will!" So she bought the bird and took it home.

When she entered the house, the husband was, as usual, sprawled on the sofa guzzling beer and watching the game. "Honey!" she exclaimed, "I've got a surprise for you! A Goony bird!"

The husband, in his usual bored tone replied, "Goony Bird, my ^rse!"
