Hello Missrlr, no it didn't work for me either, ended up reading until midnight in an attempt to get work thoughts out of my head.

Luckily working from home today so can relax a bit, got enough on to keep me busy but not swamped. Plus added advantage, don't have to go out in rain.

Just made spinach soup base to use up spinach before it goes off. Will finish it off later/tomorrow for soup on Friday. Was going to make spinach and beetroot soup but beetroot a bit furry so changed my mind - :rotfl:

Cooker coming today, not tomorrow, still hope OH arrives before it does.

Back to work now I suppose, chat again later x

Cooker arrived before OH yesterday but not a problem as delivery guys were really nice. OH arrived home, tried to fit the cooker, couldn't and decided to go back to C*rrys to ask them to fit it after all. I rang them today to arrange, only to be told the price is now £180 instead of £120 as quoted in the shop. I kindly declined and spent the morning leaving messages for gas safe engineers in our area.

A guy we know has agreed to do it on 10th Oct if we can't get it done before then. Wish OH had listened and booked him to come this week when he knew the delivery was yesterday, we could always have cancelled him if it didn't arrive. He's so blinking useless at times, refuses to leave an answer phone message so has been randomly ringing his mobile all week, which I discovered today has changed. When I asked him why he didn't ring their landline he said because they never answer it. Pr^t, now I have to put up with the blinking thing taking over my kitchen for nearly 2 weeks.

Had a very productive 2 days working from home and hoping boss appreciates the work I've done. Off to work tomorrow to have my usual row/discussion with him. Meeting client who is bringing her 9mth old DD with her so should be eventful.

Hoping to finish early. Had nsd #15 & 16, not going to hit my target as only 3 days left of month but happy to do 16+ in a month.

Off to bed now. Talk tomorrow.

Client meeting sounds a lot more interesting than most! Such as shame about the cooker, hopefully you can get the man what can in and get it installed. The installation fee seems a tad excessive to say the least!!!

I am so pleased I made it to today. Looking at next month I think I need some time out of the office otherwise I am likely to succumb to the depths of homicide or suicide

Hope today is good for you

Well today was a real mixed bag.

Arrived into office to find HIM reading my hard worked report - pulling it to shreds like it was holey knitting. :(

Client arrived with DD who was an absolute delight. At one point I was sitting on the floor playing with her whilst mum pulled herself together. I could have stayed there all day. :D

Back to my desk to HIM asking if I wanted to take 10 minutes before we "discussed" my report. Luckily friend rescued me as it was nearly lunch time so it was put off until after lunch. :)

Into meeting room to go over my report, began with, "first off I don't like........" Not a good start to any discussion I feel. From there HE basically rubbished the way I do things, which meant HE was rubbishing the way I'd been trained by HIS peers. Tried to soften it by saying HE was "trying to teach me the correct way to do things" Teaching Granny to suck eggs more like :(

Upshot is I have to meet with last week's client again, just to rewrite my notes in a slightly different way, covering basically the same material, to rewrite my 35 page report, to submit to our legal team, who on HIS admission hates the way HE writes such things. Sad thing is there is nothing I can do to get out of it. It is so frustrating, even though I know and told HIM so, that HE is the one who will get the blame for it, I hate being partly to blame for a poor job. Really doesn't sit well with me. :wall:

Tried to talk to senior boss about HIM tonight but didn't want to say too much as it'd seem like I was moaning rather than just really concerned about quality. Did mention a couple of concerns though and he told me he had spoken to HIM previously about HIS behaviour and was monitoring things but doesn't see a solution at the present time. :(

I think all I can do is record my concerns and raise them when questioned why reports get rejected.

Senior boss is lovely though and we had a good chat and he made me feel good at what I do and valued. :staradmin

Got home to find OH drunk, although he'd tried to hide the evidence from me. As if I don't notice, he's really irritating if not quite so grumpy when drunk and truly doesn't see that its as clear as the nose on his face really. Already irritated after a stressful day, I found trying to talk to him like trying to speak English to a Martian - my blood pressure must be through the roof and probably explains both my headache right now and my feeling of gloom.

He'd also moved the cooker from the corner of the kitchen to the toy area of my dining room and asked me to find something to hide it from DGDs as he doesn't want them fiddling with it. Stupid man, don't put it where they play then. How on earth am I meant to hide something as big as a cooker, oh I know I'll wave my magic wand

Found fascinator for wedding in box on doorstep, not sure where it came from, OH said it wasn't there when he got home at 3pm but was there when I got home at 7pm. It's really pretty and looks really nice in my hair. :j

Not a NSD today as spent 80p on really nice bread roll to go with my spinach and pepper soup. Its very tasty but a little thin, may thicken it up with potato as I have loads left. :coffee:

OH working again tomorrow morning but is off on Monday as going away to hotel for night on Sunday. Got afternoon tea, dinner with wine and breakfast to look forward to in really remote hotel so will be real chance for some quality chill out together time

Changing Granny day to Wednesday this week, skiving off work early, double bonus :kisses:

Off to find something funny to post, back in a mo x

A woman is on trial for shoplifting.

She is sitting in the courtroom next to her husband.

The judge says to her, “I’m going to have to make an example of you, what did you steal?”

She says, “I stole a can of peaches.”

The judge asks, “How many peaches were there in the can?”

    “Five,” she answers.

The judge says, “I’m going to give you five years.”

    The woman starts to cry.

And suddenly her husband jumps up and says, “Your honour, last week she stole a can of peas!”

Night all, have a good weekend x
