Sorry that you haven't had more positive responses. And the last one, just couldn't get out of the script could she. I think that they have everything down so pat, that they can't think for themselves, when something unusual comes in for them to deal with....

    Hi Chev

How are you? She even said that she'd speak to her manager and ring me back. I asked her to put it in writing instead to which she replied that she would but would also ring. I asked her not to as it was affecting my health. She eventually agreed, wanna bet she rings next week!

Missrlr, so sorry you aren't getting a good response either. In my scenario the case isn't lost yet, it just may take a little longer than I anticipated.

Night all, I'm going to bed now. HE is taking me for lunch tomorrow, luckily HE's invited a male ex-colleague that I really get on with along too.

But I guess HE has no power over you any more so you may find that you can enjoy just because of that & not just the old colleague being there too! Who's paying? So where is the expensive section of the menu? If he has invited you out to lunch and doesn't HAVE to, then he wants something. As they say more power to your elbow. Looking forward to hearing what he has in mind!

Ha ha, it was very nice actually but I ended up talking more than usual just trying to fill up the awkward silences. HE seemed to just want to take me for lunch, HE paid and bought me a lovely bunch of flowers as well.

Clearly HE liked and appreciated me more than I thought.

I was extremely glad other colleague was there too though as he is lovely.

So that is a good reference coming your way when you decide to look for a job next year? Nice one. As it is no longer a professional relationship then you can say what you want as long as it isn't libelous of course. Helpful to know that you can maintain contact for that purpose if nothing else.

Ha ha NoOneAround, HE was rather difficult boss from the job I've just left.

Patanne, unlikely that HE will write me a reference as policy with the civil service is only generic reference by HR allowed. It does mean however if I ever decide to work in the civil service again HIS opinion can be sought without my fearing the response. HE also put a lovely message in my farewell card, saying how much HE misses our chats! Nowt as queer as folk as they say x
