Wow so much has happened since I last visited (sorry). Glad you had a good relaxing time with OH.
The pampering sounds fab - I am wanting to do this soon too. Are you following any particular healthy eating plan or just your own. Your weight loss is great! I need to do something but cant seem to get my mind in the right gear until I see pics of myself - should probably put pics up everywhere lol
Glad your redundancy has come through - so if you manage settlements will you be debt free then? How fantastic - hopefully you can do this. xx0 -
Thanks both
LAM am following a strict plan my DD has devised especially for me, (she's a nutritionist). I have got a horrendous amount to lose but am taking it 1lb at a time. My 1st goal is to lose a stone, almost achieved. The next to fit comfortably in an airline seat without worrying if I will need an extension belt. Third is to weigh less than OH, who is 6' 3", a feat I haven't managed for 7 years.
Yes if my settlement offers are agreed I could be DF. I've got a small bit of leeway on the 25% offers but am hoping most will accept that.
Already today I've reduced my debt by a decent amount, I just need to do proper calculations on Monday when OH is in work.
He's already asked me what I'm buying him. I told him I didn't sleep last night as I was stressing over the responsibility. I think he thinks I'm being mean but I'm just trying to be frugal and leave us in the best position possible. I told him I'd treat him to coffee or lunch out, his choice LOL

I know exactly what you mean about the responsibility of money. I had £20 in my purse this week and now have £5.70 - where did that go? I almost had a panic attack trying to account for it! In the past I have never had cash in my purse - I would have been running off to the bank to bank it. Anyway I have put £5 in my sealed tin. Have decided that money is going towards spending money for a holiday we are finally taking next year.0

Oh so pleased to hear redundancy money has come in. Really hope the F&F settlements are accepted.
Also would you be entitled to an HMRC refund for tax paid as your income has ceased? Maybe not until next year thinking about it but might be doable earlier?
Glad the healthy lifestyle changes are continuing, I am sure as with money matters you can achieve this aim too!

Fantastic news Granny :j I hope that all the creditors accept your offer! We got ours settled at around 50% I think it was and I kind of wished we'd gone in lower to start with
. We did ours through the DMP company though so they wanted as much as we had.....I still kept back £1k though as leeway like you have just in case some said no (which they did!!! But the £1k more than covered all those who said no)
I look forward to seeing lots of positive weight loss posts and the DF post (positive thinking now, it will happen, and soon!)

Hi all, thanks for the well wishes
Yes Missrlr, I've paid almost £2k in tax this year and as I'm not intending to look for work until I come back from Oz, I should get most of that back next April.
DF(w), yes one of the reasons I'm starting at a 20% offer, (I've paid them as much as I could afford for >3years already), is in the hope that they will counter offer 25%. I can but dream.
As for what I'm going to do until Feb, I've booked some online courses to update and change my skill set. I'm also considering doing something like flower arranging/nail art too.
Plus I have to decide on when to opt for the second operation, pre/post Oz!
Saw DGC again today, took 2 little girls for a 2 mile walk, needless to say DGD2 was shattered by the time I gave her back to her mother.
Took OH for just coffee yesterday and today, £10 spent, plus I bought him a casserole dish for his chilli.
He's in work all day tomorrow and I'm quite glad as he's been quite snappy over a large part of this week.
