Thank you for the visit Lucky, DF(w) and Beanie, sorry its taken me a while to reply. OH & I have just got back from 2 weeks away. It was pure bliss and I refused to think of money the whole time. OH paid for everything anyway, I think I spent about £20 in total and some of that was on a fuse for my car as I blew up the cigarette lighter when my charger broke in it. The electrics on my car now need looking at but it is going to have to wait until my redundancy comes through.

We arrived home in the early hours of yesterday and I was absolutely wrecked for the whole day. Going to spend today doing washing, drying etc, hoping to get it all put away quickly.

Health wise I am much improved. I am on the list for the other op with the private consultant but as yet don't have a date for surgery. I'm feeling much more in control over this one though so am hoping either for a date in Dec or a date in June. This means I can go to visit DD in Oz in the spring without too much worry. OH has finally come to a decision and will not be joining me as he thinks it's too far, too expensive and will take up too much annual leave for him to go. Instead we are going to go back together when he retires and we are mortgage & debt free. So something to look forward to.

Hoping to see my little people tomorrow/Monday as I've really missed them.

Hoping life is treating you all well, I'll pop in soon

Thanks for the visits Beanie, Robin & Amber

I'm not doing too good a job at updating this lately am I? In one way it's good though as I'm not so debt obsessed or stressed at the moment. Still keeping my eye on the end goal though.

Whilst we were away OHs Mr T account and my 2 M&5 accounts came up for plan review. Before I had time to write to Mr T, they reviewed the plan based on the info I'd sent them?.... and dropped the payment by £20pm. As I intend to offer them a reduced settlement soon I've decided to accept the drop, OHs suggestion as a bonus for the next 3 months.

My predators however have been a PITA, ringing constantly, some days multiple times. I don't answer the phone and OH just tells them I'm not in. They left quite a stroppy voicemail on Saturday, insisting I ring today or else. I wrote to them Friday which I can only assume they received today as I've had no calls since that voicemail.

DGD2 starts school next week, wow she seems so little but so ready at the same time.

DGS is now toddling everywhere with his new found confidence.

We're seeing them tomorrow for some (((Granny))) and kisses and then quality time with DGDs before school starts up.

Friend had her redundancy the day after she finished, I finish Thurs, how good would it be if instead of 6-8 weeks of worry the £ comes through that quickly.

Anyway, hope life is well with you all. Be back soonish

The predators can be very stressful, though once you have spoken to them and have an agreed payment plan they should not be phoning you.

Fingers crossed your redundancy payment is with you very soon.

Have a lovely time with DGChildren. I can't believe DGS is toddling already

    Thanks Pooh

Another predator rang yesterday but on asking 'is it convenient to talk' and being told 'not really can you put it in writing?', they went away saying they'd write instead.

Today is my last official day as a Civil Servant. Feels very liberating, now to do something amazing with my life.

I'm starting a new diet, (healthy eating plan), today, have booked a contact lens trial and may go for a massage. Tomorrow I'm having my hair done. (Both paid for via Group0n)

HE rang me on Tues and wants to take me out for lunch. I nearly declined but decided there was no harm in being polite so agreed.

DGDs bickered a lot yesterday and as a result OH was in an awful grump but I still enjoyed. Had lots of fun & giggles & hugs with little man too.

Playing mum's taxi tonight at 7 and midnight, OH is nights so can't do it.

Holiday pay has been paid, looks like it's been heavily taxed so will probably be due a rebate. 1 down, 2 to go.

    Have a good day all

  • Hello Granny!

Sounds like your holiday was just what you needed :) I hope your redundancy comes through as quick as your friend's one did! That would be brilliant not having to wait for it :) I can't believe my ds2 is going in to year 1 already he seems so small :( I was getting his school trousers the other day and had a few people ask if he was going into nursery, haha poor little thing he must be due a growth spurt soon ;)

Good luck on the healthy eating plan, I start a new one each week...one day i'll stick at one :o xx

    Thanks DF(w)

Healthy eating going well so far. Since returning from hols on 16th I've lost 10lbs. Whilst I know a lot of this is water weight due to fluid retention on hols/flight it still makes me feel good. I'm following a very strict plan and hoping to lose a couple of stone by Christmas and then another by mid Feb when I plan to go to Oz to see my daughter. Exciting times ahead.

My redundancy has been paid and I've paid off some debts this morning. I've also transferred some into my ISA in the hope that I can actually come out of this with a savings pot.

Plan for Monday is writing to everyone else to offer them reduced settlements. I'm hoping for a 75% reduction so I will be solvent with savings for the first time in my adult life. I had an awful night sleep last night worrying about the money and my habit of over-spending. I'm determined not to get into a financial mess ever again in my life.
