I'm glad your colleague was reprimanded it might make her think before opening her mouth another time.
Lovely that OH is booking time off to be with you when you need him, shows he does care

Well today went rather badly. There is a chance my op will be cancelled as anaesthetist is not happy. He's consulting his colleague and will get back to me with a decision in the next 24 hours. Even if he says yes now he may change his mind on Monday. He seemed to think I should wait for NHS bed as the hospital has better access to high dependency/coronary care in case it's needed. I'm so close to crying right now.

Oh no Granny, that's awful! I'm so sorry to read that. Big hugs.
I hope they decide to go ahead, but at the same time I understand the need for you to get the highest level care possible. We wouldn't want anything to happen to our lovely Granny.

Oh no! Did your impress upon him how dreadfully that will impact on your mental state? That said he does have your best interests at heart so as bad as it is you might be better off with a delay if this is overall in your interests.
Very pleased your meanie colleague was spoken to that is simply not cricket.
Fingers crossed for you! Now do get well and and maybe call the anaesthetist and your consultant to impress your urgent need for this to be actioned!Start info Dec11

Dearest granny it is so important that you are well enough for the op. It would be awful if it made you worse, but even so....how depressing to think you might have to wait. I hope you feel better today, eat plenty of food that's good for you, drink plenty of water and, most importantly think positively. I believe that the negative thoughts can bring down your immune system further, probably ridiculous but I think it's true.
All my love to you
