I had trouble getting an appointment too with the receptionist saying there were no appointments. I said it was urgent due to hospital and she tried to persuade me to come in this morning as their computers were down. I said I needed to speak to my GP and she rang me back an hour later saying he wanted to see me straight away. I was just so worried that if I didn't nip it in the bud straight away my op would be cancelled.
Gosh, what a good job you insisted on speaking to your GP, Granny; hope the antibiotics are already kicking in and you're starting to feel better.
You too, Satchmo.Oh it's so nice not having to get up for work this morning
:T Yes, having some time off gives you the best chance to prepare for the op without stress. Enjoy.0 -
Great decision I think

I'm off to the doctors now after battling all day to get seen. Written complaint prepared. I've had an awful day, so will probably crawl into bed straight afterwards. Thanks for the hugs, though, they're needed. Back atchya {{{Granny & "friends in the box"}}}What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?0

Poor Satch hope gp sorted you out and you are now resting soundly
Thanks Mrs F, I'm feeling 100% better with no work worries to think about
Yeah its pretty difficult getting in to see the doctor these days, there is usually a month wait for routine appointments. You clearly have to know in advance that you are going to be ill. I'm fairly certain that the only reason I got to see him yesterday was because I insisted that I needed to speak to him so the receptionist had no choice but to tell him I'd called and because of his concerns about my health I jumped the queue. It bothers me that someone less forceful would have been made to wait until their situation had become more serious. (In the past I would have given up without a fight but after a year of h3ll no more)
Mr T rang tonight in an attempt to do a debt review, despite I don't know how many times being told to put all correspondence in writing. I refused to answer his questions other than to say our situation hasn't changed and told him to put it in writing. He tried to warn me that the account can be sold to a debt collection agency and I told him I wasn't discussing it any further and was terminating the call. So job for tomorrow is a debt review ready for when we receive their letter as knowing my luck it'll arrive as I'm about to go into hospital.

Hi granny. :hello:
Well done on looking after yourself and doing the right thing and getting a sick note. Really hope it all goes well and that the op is the success you need it to be. Also loving the lack of OD and the stories re your DGC! Keep it coming!

thanks Brizzle, definitely know that getting signed off now was the right idea. As to O/D not much left in the bank but all bills for the month paid so small amount left is for any incidentals, plus DS owes me £60, work £30 and DM £35 so I have that to fall back on if necessary.
Next month my car needs its MOT - if we weren't using it to drive to the airport I'd let it go until April. Hoping the £150 I have in savings by then will be enough to cover cost.
Will also have to pay speeding fine next month - haven't returned notice yet.
Realised its my fault that Mr T have asked for a review so soon, I changed the payment from £50 to £48+ to tidy up the balance and they have cancelled the agreement because we breached the terms. FGS - for the sake of just over £1. Letter sent to them with updated review, saying they can have £50 or nothing!!!
Have finally done a debt review and despite the fact that things haven't changed much since Sept last year, they are still moving in the right direction and we had a pretty good Christmas.
My debt free date is now showing as Oct 2020 but I'm hoping with a bit more focus this year, I'll be able to cut that down by a year. (be good if I could get it to Dec 2019).
Feeling a bit better today, although chest still tight so difficulty breathing and back is sore. I'm very tired so am resting up a fair bit.

I printed the snowball calculator out yesterday and having looked at it this morning, I'm going to try really hard to follow it. If I manage to do so, my debt will be under £45k by the end of the year. This would be fantastic, Ive been quite ruthless with how much I can afford to pay each month and have not left much for treats/emergencies but as OH covers most of that I'm sure it's doable. Over the last few months I lost a bit of focus because I was feeling so poorly and run down and my unnecessary spending went up a bit. I'm determined that this year things will improve throughout my life.
OH is in a really grumpy mood this morning, I think it's because I'm off work. Luckily he's off to work soon and is working most of the weekend so I can relax without getting on his nerves.
I'm going out for a while this afternoon as the weather has improved and is supposed to be only temporary.

OH is working all day today so I am making the most of it and having a quiet relaxing day of reading and playing on my laptop.
This morning I rang DM and as I get free calls on the weekend we chatted for ages. It would have been nice to go and see her before I go into hospital but unfortunately health and finances have prevented that. Nice chatting to her though.
DF rang me shortly after, he'd been trying to ring DM for ages whilst we were on the phone. Chatted to him for a while. Despite being separated he still rings her most days.
DM wants to go away for a couple of days when I'm up to it.
Yesterday I had a phone call from someone at work telling me despite my being sick I was still required to attend a meeting on Monday morning. The meeting is 180 miles away! I refused, stating if I'm not well enough to work from home, I'm certainly not well enough to attend the meeting and do all the associated travelling. She told me I may be disciplined for failing to attend, I said so be it. I tried to send her a copy of my doctor's paper but our computer systems are off for the weekend so I emailed it to my colleague who is going to the meeting. I'm pretty annoyed about it and thinking of putting in a complaint about her officious bullying. See what my boss has to say on Monday.
I ventured out for an hour yesterday but got very tired very quickly so came home.
OH bought me a magazine subscription for Christmas and today I've received 5 D0ve haircare products as a gift for subscribing. Totally unexpected and a nice surprise.
Yesterday I subscribed to 5 men's health magazines for £5 for OH and 3 women's health for £1 for me. There is no minimum subscription period and they come with £30 worth of free toiletries. A great bargain I thought.
Posted the letter to Mr T, so now we have to wait for them to reply. I still haven't written to my 2 predators who charge interest but will do so next week. If I can get them to freeze the interest my df date will be even better.
Hope any readers are having a good weekend and are not too affected by the weather. It's blowing a gale here
