Morning Granny, I had to do a double take on the date there as i had a strong sense of deja vu!!!
How annoying for him to do the same thing AGAIN and with the same response. Not sure you will be able to change the door and locks and this make any difference if the keys are still being left in it.
Could you appeal to his sense of OCD by pointing out how easy it is for someone to use arm through letterbox and steal keys / use to break in? Presumably as he cares enough to lock the door he is security conscious? Oh and I would (run to the door when you see him coming) and remove the keys flinging open the door and exclaiming you just remembered in time and wasn't that lucky he didn't have to be inconvenienced.
Hope the trip goes OKStart info Dec11

Dearest Piq, thank you so much for the tea and toast. I changed it to strawberry jam, (home made of course) as I abhor marmalade
Just to be even cheekier I turned the tea into the peppermint variety and drank it from my bone china mugit went down a treat so thank you so much x
Missrlr, your post did make me giggle, I could just imagine his face at me rushing to the door in welcome, he'd probably die of fright So funny and spot on about the changing door and locks unless I refused to give him a set x
Dear Robin and DFW your posts, whilst not practical given the situation, we work different hours and so I couldn't justify not giving him a key and thinking the cost is a tad much just to teach him a lesson, were most appreciated and made me smile. I'll use your suggestions as a threat of 3rd strike and locked out matey
Trip went well, DM only slightly annoying and nothing to fret over. Meeting was done and dusted in 2 hrs, giving me the rest of the day to spend with her before driving home when it was a bit cooler
I've been so productive today I got all my necessary work done in 3 hrs and am now languishing in the sunshine. I've promised to pick DS up later to collect DGD1 from Rainbows as he's had a busy day. May suggest to OH that we go for coffee/food for the evening for a change
Had my expenses money through for my trip last week so not as skint today, feels nice to have some money, even if I don't plan on spending it
L1nk want a debt review, pests, and insist on a daytime number which I'm going to chose to ignore as I've told them written correspondence only.
No other debt news for now

I decided to do a financial update, (mainly thanks to letter from L1nk re MBN^ debt) and am pleased to see that my blip over the last month hasn't done too much damage. I haven't managed to pay much off in the last 2 months but at least my debt has still decreased. I've now paid off over 11% of my debt.
I did a snowball calculator today and am pleased to see that my DFD is now Feb 2021 and tbh my plan is to get it to at least Dec 2020, whilst this still seems years off, it is 4 years earlier than I orginally thought and moons earlier than it would have been if I had not had my LBM.
so today, I'm feeling like this

Hello Granny, :hello:
:T :T - To continued debt reduction; a four year improvement in DF date is a more than significant improvement! :T :T
My comment re changing door was a 'worst case' scenario which would only apply if the door is not of wooden construction (ie. UPVC). Otherwise, simply adding a Yale lock would solve the problem; keep the handle-key lock for night-time security and get a key cupboard (which Neighbourhood Watch would say to site around a corner, not next to the door).
Yale locks don't have the option of leaving the key in the lock on the inside. So: Unlock door and remove key, enter house, door locks on the latch as it's closed, put key on it's hook in the cupboard..0 -
