Glad you have had a good Xmas Granny, shame about having to work though. You deserve that money for putting up with HIM they should let you keep it!!! xx

I should try using that argument. :rotfl: Having looked at the HR pay policy, I should inform them of the overpayment, (yeah right) and they will automatically take it back next month. Who knows luck may shine down on me and no-one will notice :rotfl:

I know and it was a real one, not a fake, which I already own and so was quite pleasantly surprised. I have an old style charm bracelet from when we first got together and for years he used to buy me a charm for it for birthdays/Christmas etc. I'm going to suggest he does the same with this one. It's the nicest surprise present he's bought me in a long time.

Hope your day goes as well as mine did. I did nothing of value, just sat there to make decisions if needed, which wasn't, and day-dreamed about what I could do with the overpayment.

An overpayment and a bit! Shame that's not your normal monthly wage, that would solve all sorts of problems!

Sounds like you and OH had a good time together, I'm glad.

I am still day-dreaming what I could do with the overpayment, if only. It is nice to have such lovely thoughts running through my head. Piq, you are so right, what I could do if that was my normal monthly pay. I paid more in tax this month than I normally take home.

I'm just a bit worried that the retrieval of it will somehow mess up my pay for these 2 months, rather than leave me better off. Still best not to worry, if/until it actually happens.

Anyway, not a NSD today as I've bought handkerchiefs to embroider for female family members as gifts throughout the year. I've also bought myself a dome umbrella, (I've wanted one for a while) and a bedside water jug and glass set, (in the shape of a Russian Doll). I then ended up somehow paying for snacks for New Year's Eve, stain devils to remove the felt pen that OH allowed DGD2 to get onto her new tights and t-shirts for DGD1s birthday on Tuesday.

I need new gloves and want cashmere or angora ones, so OH has told me to look for them on Fleabay and he will pay for them. He also paid for some craft type presents for DGD1, (to be put away for next year), in the sales.

So off to try to get this stain out of her tights. speak soon.

  • I've got everything crossed that some kind of divine intervention allows you to keep the overpayment :D.

Lovely Christmas presents though, and greatly deserved. Enjoy your time off Xx

I've got everything crossed that some kind of divine intervention allows you to keep the overpayment :D.

Well sadly my pay arrived in my bank today and did not contain the £12,000 overpayment, just the normal amount. Oh well, it was nice to dream and also means that my pay for next month shouldn't be messed up. I panicked initially as instead of having too much my bank was telling me I didn't have enough to pay a £200 so due out today. Bank checked and all is fine, if they have bounced the so they shouldn't have, I should imagine they will represent it later today.

Anyway, last couple of days have flown by. I managed a couple of more NSDs and am having one today so haven't quite managed my target of 15 but am happy with 14.

Yesterday DGDs came over for a couple of hours and I overspent in Mr T, all in an attempt to save money by not going for coffee. Instead of the <£10 I would have spent there, I spent £26 in Mr T, although I have got some things to show for it, (tops for DGDs in particular).

Reflecting over the last year has proved it to be a fairly OK one, if not a hard year getting to grips with my debts finally. I have managed to curb my overspending, contributed towards DS wedding and managed to lose a little weight.

    Plans for 2013

Reduce debt further, bringing DFD closer than current one of June 2022.
Lose at least 2 stone, to help with health situation
save money to visit DD in Australia - even if this happens in 2014.

OH and I are staying in today as weather is appalling. He's ordered a pizza for 5pm and we are going to watch some dvd's and see the year out with a drink or 2, (um, and probably the rest).

Hope you all have a very happy new year's eve and next year is the best I could wish for you:
