Good luck with your targets i know you will achieve them.
Our nye was similar OH got very annoyed when i announced i was going to bed early and decided to moan about everything under the sun. Next morning he came down and i said you have 2 choices.
1 you wish me a happy new year and we have a nice day or 2 you pick a fight and we argue all day,Thankfully he chose 1st option.:)

Dear NTO, that is how I felt on NY Eve, I thought either I can continue this into a full blown arguement or say what I said and tell him to leave it go. The last thing I wanted was to start the NY with a row. For some reason I often go to bed feeling rather blue on NYE and was trying really hard not to do so this year. I think, realistically, it's because despite it being a NY, things are still in need of sorting out, in the debt, weight and relationship way and this makes me feel glum. It would be nice if NY wishes came true and I could wave a magic wand and it would all go away.

So, anyway the decorations are taken down, with the living room looking decidely bare and carrot soup made for lunch. I had a smoothie for breakfast, whilst OH is still munching Christmas goodies. He spent all day yesterday moaning about how much weight he had put on over Christmas but is now sitting on the sofa watching TV. I'm hoping he goes out soon so I can do my stair stomps for today.

Later today I am going to shred some paperwork, (declutter 1/365) and calculate my debt starting position for the year. Fingers crossed its moved a bit from Oct 12 and in the right direction. I suspect it is fairly similar though as wedding and then Christmas shopping meant the repayments were minimal.

    Be back later

PLMBL, I probably count my NSD in a different way to you. Anything that is already planned for, eg predators or essential bills repayments are not counted. If OH goes shopping that's not counted either. My NSD are mine alone and counted if I do no non-essential spending in the day, this includes buying myself lunch or shopping for groceries as OH does the weekly shop and therefore there is always something to eat. I don't count petrol purchases as they are in my budget. So today, I have possibly paid some bills via my bank account but have not purchased anything, so will be counting it as a NSD.

NL, yes I too love a good declutter and my plan is to rid myself of 365 things in my house, (perhaps OH will fall into that category :rotfl:) I have shredded 3 bags of paper, including last year's predators statements as I don't really know why I've been keeping them. This year I intend to shred them as soon as they are entered on my debt spreadsheet.

Next I'm going to go through my clothes, (though probably not until the weekend) and fleabay or cashforclothes the things that I really do not wear.

I've just redone my snowball calculator, (http://www.makesenseofcards.com/snowcalc.html) and it has come up with a DFD of Nov 2021, which I'm pretty happy at. It should be affordable, especially if I can sell some of the stuff in my 365 declutter.

Sadly my debt has only reduced by £10 in 3 months, although I've reduced OHs by £3k in a year, so pretty happy with that, (he pays the household bills and food shop, I pay his predators). This year I'll be throwing the extra money at my catalogue and one remaining store card as they still charge interest.

So small signature update to follow, with new DFD entered, which is one of this year's targets.

I count NSD in the same way, if I have accounted for it then its planned, it's only when I spend (usually cash) just because I can

That's exactly how I count NSDs too. If it's not in the budget it's an extra spend!

I'm decluttering 365 items too. Although I might count a batch of things as one items, say five books in the same decluttering will count as one item. So, in fact, I hope to get rid of far more than 365 items.

I must look into cash for clothes, I've seen the sign in the town. I've a few bits that haven't gone on eb@y and that might be the ideal final resting place for them!

So today didn't turn out to be a nsd after all as I just bought some fantastic wool to make dgds some jumpers, cost £10 for 5 balls. This means I now have to restart my 5 in a row challenge, not good for day 2 really but couldn't resist the wool. It retails at £4 a ball in the shops.

Saw this and thought of us

I am slowly working my way around the diaries since Christmas but its slow progress.

I love your challenges for the year. I need to settle myslef down and get back into the challenges , budgets etc. I think I will wait until the girls are back at school so that I can concentrate more, its far to busy here at the moment.

Looking forward to sharing lots of fun and laughter with you in 2013 !!

Can I echo the last post please. Belated happy New Year to you and yours xx

I too count my decluttering in groups of items so am hoiping to get rid of a lot more than 365 items. I have decluttered my wardrobe and am down to the bare bones, to what I actually wear :D It is liberating: I have less to choose from.

My NSDs are things that are not direct debits or standing orders or regular bills like council tax. Anything else is a spend. I try to do all shopping on a Friday and then it is my spend day. I used to put money into a pot for the gym each week , then it was paid on Monday but not counted as it was a planned spend.
