    Hiya :)

There are a couple of ideas mentioned in an earlier thread that might help.

And we also have a recipe in our collection:-

    Basque ratatouille

Even if you're not vegetarian this would make a nice side dish, and I'm sure other ideas will be along shortly :)

I think marrows are just giant courgettes aren't they?

If so, then I should imagine they could be used in any recipe that uses courgettes, and I'm pretty sure I've heard of "stuffed marrows" before, but have never actually tried marrow myself.

Ooooops just noticed Pink has provided a stuffed marrow link above! :o

    Marrow ginger jam!

We got very tired of eating it one year when I was little - the year my dad grew courgettes and forgot one of them was there :D

I declined to enter a raffle last Saturday cos first prize was a giant marrow and it seemed to be bigger than my kitchen :D

my mum used to make a gorgeous stuffed marrow.

she would peel it and scoop out the middle then fill it with anything. mainly a mince and onion type filling. then she would wrap in foil and put in oven. i think time depended on size of marrow. i can always remember the smell. it was a really warming wintery meal. mum said it was a very simple easy meal but the most time consuming part was scooping the marrow out.

Stuffed marrow using mince, onion & tinned toms or any flavoured cous cous or tuna, sweetcorn, mushrooms & cheese is nice, or under a cheese sauce as a kind of marrow gratin, or my favourite, as a cooked, pureed thickner with eggs & spicy chicken in a flan case.

Hi it's my first time posting here after much lurking on this forum which is my favourite. I love all the money saving tips and brought my first bottle of Stardrops at the weekend, which I have to thank you all for recommending, it is amazing stuff.
My eldest son who doesn't live at home anymore has recently got himself an allotment, he's only 24 bless him, but he loves gardening. Anyway, he came round yesterday proudly clutching a bag of veg for me, his first crop of runner beans and a marrow. I've chopped and frozen the runner beans but I havn't got a clue what to do witht he marrow, has anyone got any good recipes for them please, I'm a vegetarian so meat free only please. Thanks in advance
