my marrow plant has had 7 marrows so far and is expecting 4 more. They are tender marrows weighing about 2 lb each. My best success to date has been marrow and ginger jam, it is absolutely delicious. I made marrow and apple chutney, baked marrow stuffed with minced meat and the next one will be stuffed with sausagemeat. I also dehydrated quite a bit as it will be very useful through winter, in casseroles and soups0

We love marrow and whenever I cook it, I just chop it into about 1 inch pieces, then mix it up with lots of coursely chopped onions, put plenty of black pepper and pinch of salt on, and roast it.
Simple, but delicious.

I'd cut the marrow into thickish slices, say 2", scoop out the seeds, place the slices onto a baking tray and then stuff the slices with a nice tasty stuffing. Cheapy packet stuffing mix works well as the base with the addition of some chopped onions, mushrooms, tomatoes, cooked meat, etc. depending on what's lurking in the fridge/cupboards. Add a crumbled stock cube and season to taste. Put enough stuffing into each slice so that it comes above the top of the marrow as it will shrink down during cooking. Dot the top with small pieces of butter/spread and then bake at 200C or Gas 6 until the marrow is soft and the stuffing nicely cooked and browned on top. Enjoy... and don't forget the gravy! Be adventurous and try different fillings/stuffings. Leftover risotto or savoury rice topped with cheese works well. Marrow doesn't really taste of anything so lends itself to taking up the flavours of whatever it's cooked with.#Life isn't about waiting for the storms to pass, it's about learning to dance in the rain #We must be willing to let go of the life we planned so as to have the life that is waiting for us #If you focus on what you have left behind, you will never see what lies ahead - Gusteau/RatatouilleGC 2022: £0/£2,500 total spend0

We were also given a marrow today....an enormous one! Thats why I popped on here hehe
We're not massive fans of courgette, and I've never cooked or probably even eaten marrow before and a little lost about what to do with it! I like the sound of putting bolognaise (veggie for us) in it with cheese on top though. I am, however, tempted to pass the thing on!GC2012: Nov £130.52/£125

Thank you Fizzy Drink! Its a standing joke in our family that every year my Dad gives me marrows. Pre-MSE days I would leave them in the cupboard until they went a bit manky then throw them out. I am very ashamed that Dad doesnt know this! He has just given me the first marrow of the year and I now have some ideas of what to do with it. I might even persuade the kids to try some!!0
