Seriously, I have to ask... what the **** is wrong with you? :rotfl:
Why the heck would you pick up on what you did, and start trying to get a rise from people on the Internet? Seriously, get a hobby.0 -

It was a reasonable question to ask - I've been driving/owning cars for over 25 years and have never had to replace the brake disks on a car after only 14K miles."You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0 -

If you did a half-mile journey to the shops and back every day, and nothing more - I can guarantee after 8 years you'd need new brake discs.
They corrode, and on short journeys will of course wear a lot quicker.0 -

Easily caused by rust pitting due to lack of use, left for a couple of weeks after going out in salt rust will be bad, couple of brakes, rinse and repeat..= new discs in no time.0 -

In fairness, it was reasonable to ask, hence why i took a few mins to explain more of the background.0 -
I'm sure you have it covered, let's just call it a private sale, no questions asked. Even better, just write - no warranty, it's cheap - that'll cover you I'm sure.
In fairness on this one, Mikey, the fact it was sold without MOT (and therefore not as a road-going car) removes pretty much any SOGA protection you'd get on other cheapos.
In fact, far better (and more honest) for dealers to do this than stick a dodgy ticket on, hide it for 3 months so there's no come-back, then advertise it as a great little car with 9 months MOT.0 -

You see, this is one of the things that bugs me about you.
I've went to a lot of trouble to be 'legit' and to treat my customers right. I'm VAT registered, HMRC registered, DVLNI registered, i've trade plates, i'm trying to build a reputation locally as supplying decent cars at a decent price.
I'm basically a one man small business, who was on the dole this time last year trying to make a living. I dont want to die rich, just get enough to make ends meet.
I know there are lots of disreputable traders out there - just like there are in all walks of life, but i'm trying my best not to be like that. I try to treat my customers like i'd like to be treated - even if that costs me more.
So why the !!!! to you and your mate Sgt Pepper insist EVERY !!!!ING time to try to undermine what i'm doing?0 -

Hes trying to prove that i am in some way disreputable and shady.
Given the guy took it home on a low loader, as you say, hes perfectly aware of what hes bought. I certainly hid nothing from him and i'd say he got a bargain.0 -
Because every time any one posts anything about a dealer, you jump in with both feet, telling everyone how they have no chance, how they have to let the dealer try to fix it for months at a time, in short, once the dealer has the money, it's his. What about all the others who were where in the same position as you, and have just scraped together the cash to buy a car, and now face being stuck without it, or paying again, and who need it for their jobs?0

You haven't said the obvious. Last one I bought like this from a dealer, it was advertised as spares or repair, even though it was roadworthy with a current MOT. The dealer didn't want to give a warranty, so took the hit on the price from selling it as a runner, so sold it as a non-runner. Maybe you did and took the hit as well, but you've certaintly evaded saying it on here. Which is exactly what I said in my original post, that you jumped on and took exception to.0
