Added in yesterday's spends to sig. Should be nsd today as am working from home. Trip out to Yorkshire Scultpture Park tomorrow, so will need some pennies for parking, will take a pack lunch but might end up buying a cuppa.
Have about half a tank of diesel, so that should keep us going for a little while. We are going camping in a few weeks though, so might need to fill up then...
Still need to check freezer / cupboards and meal plan...Bossymoo

Hi JJ Lemon balm and Moroccan mint make nice teas/ Please be careful with honeysuckle as not all are edible.. Nastursums flowers are tasty and you can pickle the seeds.
Lemon balm is on my to buy list. Mrs C also recommended it highly.
I have lots of nasturtiums this year as I planted with bees in mind. I will be using the leaves as a lettuce substitute on sandwiches:T:A Every moment is a gift. That's why we call it the present.!:A
Grocery Spend Weekly Challenge (Sat-Fri):£30.50/£400 -
Hello everyone. Have been awol for some months but would like to join Junes GC with a budget of £200 from 6th to the 30th. Today is a much needed day at home which I never seem to get and am trying to be organised. This full time working lark makes it hard to commit to OS unless you really are driven..and I'm afraid to say I'm struggling. ATM I am happy to have a batch of lentil soup in the SC, and have looked through my quite low stocked cupboards and worked out quite a few meals without having to shop much apart from milk, fruit and cereal. So my plans include a risotto of some kind, a red kidney bean curry, a lentil bolegnese, and a meal with a haddock pack I have in the freezer for OH and I when DD is working ( amazing what you can find and plan when you have the time to rake:T). Aiming for a shop at MRT with a £4 off £30 shop at the weekend or next monday. Spent £1.19 on toilet rolls this morning, and £2.78 on earplugs in local shops on my morning walk in the rain. So my first spends of this new month. Hopefully a few NSD once back at work.Grocery challenge October: £228.28/£250.00 NSD 4 ( not completed)
Grocery challenge November : £291.65/300.00 NSD 10
Grocery challenge December : £0/240.00 NSD0 -

Just a small cautionary note about lemon balm - it is extremely invasive and just gets everywhere!- three houses ago I planted a concrete tub with mint to keep outside my kitchen door and that has been great - this might offer a solution for lemon balm but I think (judging by its' presence in our garden) that it spreads by seed too. Smells great but one of life's thugs!Save £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)
OS Grocery Challenge in 2025 I am at £1286.68/£3000 or 42.89% of my annual spend so far
I also Reverse Meal Plan on that thread and grow much of our own premium price fruit and veg, joining in on the Grow your own thread

£4.08 in mr T's on carrots, reduced salad and sausgaes... then watched Jimmy's show and decided I wanted offal sausages instead. I love offal, sounded delicious
Does anyone rate Dr Oetker cake mixes? Are they good value? Do you have to add eggs?
I'm considering getting one from approved food to pacify OH's sweet tooth on the cheap but I've never used one before. Would a basic muffin/cake mix be cheaper than making your own with value ingredients? Thanks for any helpLiving cheap in central London :rotfl:0 -
Just spent another 31.08 in Ald* - more fruit and veg, milk, chicken and biscuits for half term snacks!Grocery challenge July £250

DH & I went shopping on Saturday and spent £75.60. I was a little surprised by how much it cost but there are a lot of meals within that amount (more than a week’s worth) so I am hoping that next weekend’s shopping should be less. However, since I started this GC, I am ravenous!! :eek:If Plan A fails, remember there are 25 more letters0
