  • I see this is a merged thread - any chance of merging it with the poll thread about the new eBay feedback system, nice admin people?
  • Bad seller: "S**t! I can't retaliate these star ratings so the buyers won't fear leaving poor ratings!"

Got an email from a buyer saying he really loved the item etc etc BUT he left me 1 star for the postage feedback -says it wasn't reasonable postage costs so he could not give me 5 stars cos POSTAGE was FREE. sometimes you just have to smile:rolleyes:

    oh dear

i've just posted a few new items on ebay over the last week and i'm kinda worried after reading this now.

i'm usually ok with regards to feedback but i always get the odd !!!!
for eg i sold some concert tickets to a guy last summer, semt them first thing next day, first class, he had them 2 days after auction had ended.
he then decided to have a problem with paying £4.50 postage for first class, insured delivery!

not only was it more than fair (the tickets were about £70 so had to go special or something so as to be insured) but if he was that bothered about paying £4.50 for postage then he shouldnt have bid on my item in the first place!!

i hate people who winge about postage, i mean when i see excessive postage i just pass on the item. i wouldnt buy it only to complain about it afterwards. no ones holding a gun to my head saying i have to pay whats on the listing.
    grr

    Unbelievable!

Send him an e-mail apologising that he didn't find your P&P reasonable, then send him a bill for £2 and ask if that's more to his liking? ;)

Grr, I've only got what looks like 4 1/2 stars for communication overall , yet I acknowledge payments and I email again when item is despatched.

I've had a couple of aol buyers though so it's probably them not getting my emails, so I'll have to add something onto my auctions apologising to AOL users if they think I am ignoring them as I can't get any mail through their ISP.

I've also got 4 1/2 for postage but I can't send out at less than cost so I'll have to live with that.

    Hi Soo

I think the Ebay system is just headed towards being like the old Amazon system where a good seller is 4.9 because it is nearly impossible to retain a 5.0. So, we will have to put up with being 4.5's if we're lucky.

Funny how Amazon went to the % ge feedback and Ebay have gone to the marks out of 5 feedback

    FFM :)
