Somebody who knows more than me will be along soon, but I think you will find that when you go down to only one child they will totally, or almost totally disappear on that salary.0

Hi, I WAS WONDERING IF ANYONE COULD TELL ME HOW THE CHILD TAX CREDIT'S WORK. I HAVE TWO DAUGHTERS,I,M A SINGLE WORKING MOTHER. MY DUAGHTER'S ARE 16 AND 14. MY QUESTION IS WHEN MY OLDEST DAUGHTER LEAVES SCHOOL NEXT TO GO INTO HIGHER EDUCATION OR EMPLOYMENT, WILL I BE ENTITLED TO THE CHILD TAX CREDITS FOR MY YOUNGEST CHILD? I EARN JUST OVER £27000, PER YEAR. I KNOW THAT CHANGES ARE COMING TO THE TAX CREDITS. SOUNDS LIKE I EARN A LOT BUT BELEIVE ME THE CHILD TAX CREDITS KEEPS MY HEAD ABOVE WATER . APPRECIATE ANY ADVISE.0

As Zagfiles states - however, if she goes into employment they will stop and your daughter can then give you board money to help.
If child tax credits are keeping your head above water, I would suggest re evaluating your budget so you are prepared for when they do inevitably stop.“How people treat you becomes their karma; how you react becomes yours.”0 -
Depends whether your eldest carries on with education eg A-levels or equivalent, then you'll still get them as now (you need to tell them she's still in education).0

My eldest child is in last year of school. I i have told the tax credits.Just say my oldest goes to uni. My question was regarding my youngest daughter. Age 14 will i still get child tax credits for her.
But your oldest child won't be going to uni at 16 will she, if doing A-levels or equivalent you'll still get tax credits for her so you'll have 2 eligible, so will get tax credits on £27k.0 -
Thanks for that reply.0
