Hi sparkle its an absolute disgrace there is definitely no sort of system in place when some people are waiting months and some are getting done in a couple of days!! I've been waiting a fortnight now but I sent mine in by post so think I must of landed at the bottom of a pile somewhere!! My renewals were always fine done within a week to 10 days until last year I waited 6 weeks!! Ended up with an op last year for money paid between April and June so hoping not the same this year!! May take the bull by the horns and phone this week!! Not looking forward to that lol xx

Just to clarify tamz that I have been waiting almost 10 weeks...and I wouldn't bother phoning if you have been waiting a fortnight. The advice they are giving is not to contact them until 8 weeks (it was 6 but they recently changed it) has passed after you phoned/posted.
  • Hi Sparkleybabey

Its 8 weeks tmorrow for mine, I rang two weeks ago and said to ring back in another 4 weeks if I had no update, I cannot understand why some peoples take days and others months!!!
  • Normal reviews take 7 days max Some renewals are passed to a specialist review team some then take 2-3 weeks depending on how quick the team do their checks. Some are taking 8 weeks because they are not as quick at gathering all the relevant info or doing necessary checks.

Some they are checking payroll figures match and they are calling some childcare providers to check info matches where it does not match they are then investigating further and asking for more info.
Some that take even longer when they have more checks to do ie checking single claims through credit agencies and self employed claims.
It is unfair that people who renewed way before others get underpayments quicker and even more unfair when overpayments are built up due to them not updating quicker.

Totally...I was very patient initially but I am seriously losing any patience now....especially when I am told 'they are busy'....you think?!!

I have checked and checked and there is no reason for it to be taking so long. No childcare, single claim (WTC & CTC). Hasn't gone to any specialist teams and they don't need any more info.

If they need confirmation of my salary it would have been quicker for me to walk to the frikkin HMRC that deals with my tax and THEN walk to the TCO offices and hand a letter in!

I haven't had my renewals pack, even though when I rang them 2 weeks ago they said it had been sent out, do you think I should chase it? I only get CTC
  • It is 13th June 2012 and I have still not received my renewal pack yet. Is any body still waiting for theirs. Getting quite fed up of trying to get through to them. Yes ok I might not get it until 30th of June but that does not actually give me a lot of time to collect any information they might need. Mine will be a little complicated this year anyhow because my child leaves school but should start 6form and my hubby is self employed.
