The op posted something that amused her.
How other people perceive that, is out of her hands nor her responsibility. She found it to be funny and passed it on.
The OP asked if we would be offended. She asked the question. Just because the majority agree that they do think it would be offensive, doesn't mean we don't have 'a life'.0 -

So, nobody needs to take responsibility for what they say or do then, as long as they find it funny?
That must be why nobody got upset when Billy Connolly joked about a murdered hostage, and why Bernard Manning remained so popular right to the end of his life.0 -

:rotfl: Are you being serious?I'm not that way reclined
Jewelry? Seriously? Sheldon you are the most shallow, self-centered person I have ever met. Do you really think that another transparently-manipu... OH, IT'S A TIARA! A tiara; I have a tiara! Put it on me! Put it on me! Put it on me! Put it on me! Put it on me! Put it on me! Put it on me!0 -

It isn't out of her hands when it is on HER FB page. That makes it public, that makes it targeted and it makes it humiliating, as has already been said. It is pretty obvious that not everyone who saw it thought it was funny. Someone called her MIL. I wonder what the OP's hubby thought of it, can't imagine him being too pleased either.
If the OP is happy for her mother in law to post a snippy joke about daughters in law on her FB page, then fine, but the OP didn't seem to think that was a good idea, did she?
If you can't take it don't give it.0 -

Last week someone posted on a Facebook page that I was a member of. It's a local page about being proud of your town. Someone posted a joke about old people getting booked into the town's cemetery. I said that I didn't think it was funny. After saying that my own Dad had been buried there the week before and I found it to be insensitive. I knew the joke wasn't aimed at me, but even after saying my reason why I didn't find it funny, someone said that people die, we should get over it and people should stop !!!!!-footing around. Someone else said that people are too politically correct. Someone else said that if people find things offensive then they shouldn't be on the internet. I never said I found it offensive. I found it insensitive, and so were the replies of the few who seemed to think there was nothing wrong with it.
I wasn't on some Sickepedia page. I was on a page about being proud of your town (which i'm no long a member of!) So if anyone finds anything slightly offensive or insensitive that means they should never be online. We can leave that to just a few sick, unfeeling, selfish idiots who have no thoughts of anyone but themselves then.0 -
I find it funny but I would never post it on my facebook page as I can imagine it would be hurtful for someone to see that heir DIL has posted that.
People know that FB is used for 'digs' and vague comments about unnamed people that they would never say to someone's face and that cartoon can easily come across in that way.
Alternatively, you could easily have 'shared' it then posted a comment underneath saying 'thankfully I don't have this problem with my lovely MIL' or words to that effect.Cross Stitch Cafe member No. 32012 170-194 2013 195-207.Hello Kitty ballerina 208.AVA 209.OLIVIA 210.ELLA 211.CARLA 212.LOUISE 213.CHARLEY 214.Mother & Child 215.Stop Faffing Completed 2014 216.Stitchers Sampler. 217.Let Them Be Small 218.Keep Calm 219. Well, a guy on my partner's FB said "I find women that fart disgusting" everyone else on FB found it funny and commented, however, one person piped up saying that "Someone in her family lost limbs and their husband has to wipe their bum even though he himself served in the army and people in the army are not coming back in one piece!"
The laughing and joking all of a sudden stopped.DEBTFREE AND PROUD!!0 -

on the flip side the person who "reported back to her" never went to her own sons wedding and doesn't talk to her son or daughter in law so maybe she thought she would try and do the same to us and when she sees me in the street always asks me if her daughter in law is expecting yet
Why did you ask for opinions if you only want ones that agree with you? You are arguing with everyone?
FWIW I would be offended but I wouldn't tell you.Debt free 4th April 2007.
