I went because it had suppliers selling last seasons stock and brides selling their wedding items. Very lucky to find an almost pefect fit at a price even I couldnt believe and I have a very strict budget!

Well I went to the one at Holiday Inn near UWE, but so know there was a different one in town. I only popped in for less than an hour as my OH was away so I just wanted a nose.
They had a fashion show of bride, bridesmaid and flower girl dresses which I didn't bother going to. It was really handy for finding local suppliers for decorations, outfits, flowers, photographers etc. And everyone has samples of cake, table decorations, favours, flowers and albums, so you can have a good look through.
Apparently the same organisers have a bigger one this coming Sunday at the Marriot near Cabot Circus, but with many more suppliers. I was going to go to this one with my OH. Tickets are £2 but I got a flyer for free entry. I think all the dress shops and suppliers who go there get free tickets to hand out, I got free ones for last week after sticking my head in the bridal shop in Westbury-on-Trym.0 -

Yey! We can officially put in our notice and will do soon.
Does anyone know how it all works for civil ceremonies? We live in different boroughs and will be getting married in a completely different area altogether. Will our local boroughs liaise with the borough that's conducting the ceremony or is that up to us? (We've already booked with the borough we're getting married in.) We're assuming once we have the notice stuff done we'll get info on the civil ceremony but we're guessing. Does anyone know for sure please?
I've been to a couple of civil ceremonies but now I wish I'd asked more questions!
Hope everyone's plans are coming together.0 -
Has anyone got married abroad then had a blessing in a church at home? We're thinking of a blessing but not sure how to go about it, or how much it costs.Got married to Jamie!!

Timpu- just to answer your question (yes I was lurking! :rotfl:)
You each individually give notice in the borough that you live in. N each borough works a bit differently in if they notify the area where u r getting Married. Greenwich told Dorset that we had done it, but we were given the paperwork to pass along- they didn't do that. It may be worth checking when you give notice. But remember you both need to check!:T0
