    Morning all :D

catowen - HUGE Congrats on clearing the last one :T :T

Nothing much going on with me today. Found out the IFA couldn't offer the deal he said he could and that he had made a mistake  Funny enough, the conversation that followed was "yes, I think we have to, we no longer need your services" What is it with me an IFAs

Anyway, more studying this evening, DH said last night he can see how much I am now struggling so tonight he will start supervising whilst I do it (it means I much less likely to say no I am working, when in reality I'm on here :rotfl: )

Apart from that it's same old same old.

Hope everyone is OK and as always take or leave the :grouphug: as needed

Not much planned for me today except a free facial at Debenhams this morning. DD's parents evening is this evening at 7.40!! That's 40 minutes past her bedtime. I'm not happy about that and am going to try and see her teacher and explain that I just can't make that time.

I also have to finish my CV and grab a copy of todays paper to check out the job section. Hopefully there will be something in it for me.

    Good Morning All

No rain here at moment but is rather overcast out there. Havnt got college today as DD still at home but thats ok and will give me a chance to catch up in the office. Then will need to catch up on ironing this afternoon.

Hopefully will find out the price of our kitchen today so will know if going to go ahead now or later. Need to juggle money though today as client hasnt paid when they should. (this is happening all the time now - drives me mad).

Will walk to school today with the puppy then come home & get stuck in, have loads of phonecalls to make before can think about bookeeping.

Best get on now, need to dry hair.

    Have a great day.

    Oh and well done Catowen.

    Nice bright morning, up early.

Made £150 last night with the stuff we sold in the paper, still some bits on ebay, only one has a bid and it looks as if it will go today, the other 2 things finish later in the week. If they do not sell I'll put them in the paper next week.

OH has an appointment this morning, I am going to finish off the back bedroom and then I have a trip to the charity shop with a load of clothes.

    Right off for some brekkie.

  • Good morning everyone,

today is bright and sunny here in Scotland, and whatever the weather where you are, I hope it's a bright day for you.

Good luck Moggins with the job search. What's for you won't go past you. Well done Catowen, what a good feeling for you getting clear of the catalogue payments. What you said about mislaid school uniform brought back memories for me. One of my daughters was so absent=minded:eek: . Then when she was a teenager she used to 'lend' non-school clothes to her friends, infuriating when the clothes had cost good money (there weren't many really cheap clothes shops in those days) and it was a constant battle to get them back! Usually involving phone calls to other parents to round everything up and get it back n the right houses!!

Today is a work day, but I'm doing a home visit to a client who lives close to my home so I don't have the usual 40-minute commute to the office:j . I'll come home and do some admin work here, have lunch and then will sit in on a regular clinic in the local hospital - all together I will save about 40 miles of driving and petrol, not all of which would be claimable.

Then my 4 day weekend starts ...:rotfl: :rotfl: . I'm seeing a gradual improvement in my health since going part-time, so the cut in hours has definitely been worth it, and thanks to MSE measures, financially I'm doing better than I thought I would. Miss Frugality rules OK! And because the job isn't consuming so much of my time and energy, I'm much happier in general. The big compromise is having a lodger, but again I'm concentrating on the positives - a nice tax-free cheque once a month is a big plus.:D , and helps cover some of the bills.

Hugs aplenty to all in need. Isn't it great to see Spring flowers out? We have snowdrops still, and lovely to see crocuses, and some daffs, especially mini ones seem to be apprearing before the standard ones. And isn't it just grand having the extra daylight creeping in?

If you have a talent, use it in every which way possible. Don't hoard it. Don't dole it out like a miser. Spend it lavishly like a millionaire intent on going broke.

Sorry, but I don't normally lay the finger of blame at anyone!

HOWEVER..... whose fault is it that I now cannot stop singing "Wake me up before you go-go, don't leave me hanging on like a yo-yo!!!" And all I can think about is dancing around like a crazy person

    HI all
Really interested in hearing how going part time has worked for you, groatie queen. It is something I have seriously been thinking about since my health problems started. Keep thinking that I'm still too young to be thinking in that way. I'll be 51 in July and have worked full time all my life except for 3 yrs when my third child was born and then I worked part time. I've bought up 3 kids [ages now 26, 24 and 21], one of whom had severe special needs and now lives in a special home in Norfolk, and work as a teacher in a high school. I've been off sick since January and really want to get back to work but know that my health is not up to it yet. Just can't decide what to do esp as it will also affect my future pension

House still fairly tidy and clean due to being able to keep on top of it all, so am hoping to get some crafting done today

have a great day everyone and hugs to all that need them
We don't need to do it perfectly - good enough is exactly that GOOD ENOUGH.

Morning everyone, another bright and sunny day in Stoke-on-Trent, but cold though.

Work today, so de-cluttering will have to wait for tomorrow. Loved yesterdays thread, and was inspired to start a child of the 60's thread, and seems like lots of us have fond memories of The Monkees and Walnut Whips (when you got 2 walnuts) :D

Want to watch that programme tonight where Louise Redknap gets down to a size 0

    Have a good day everyone

    Morning all :hello:

It's a lovely sunny day here, and I am off to town this morning. Just browsing really, and need to get a few things.
I am not looking for another job yet - OH hates his new job, to the point of feeling nauseas when he thinks about it.
Yesterday he came early, with an estate agent to value the house  - he wanted to sell and move to Wales. Not sure how that would help (other than being in beautiful countryside). Anyway, today he is going to see HR to see if there is an alternative job in the company, failing that he wants to resign.
If he decides we stay I will look for a job, otherwise if we are moving it's not worth looking. I don't mind either way, as long as he's happy (I'll live anywhere :D )
    It's all happening here...
